Sign up as a 'new' customer and receive a SIM with 2Gb data and 1000 minutes for £1.00. Use code ONEOFF90 .
Not used Lebara myself, but seems good for a back up SIM.

30 day contract, code only works for the first month - £10 after that. Good for month one, but overpriced thereafter.

LOL mate. Its a tenner. For 1000 mins and 2GB.
DanB89 to tfish

Exactly, not really sure what your point is? A tenner is overpriced for what it is.

14 Aug 17#25
You think ten pounds is over priced for 1000 mins and 2 GB 'Ok Mate'
No UK Telecoms is overpriced. The pricing in the UK is INSANE. Compare it to somewhere else then take a cold shower.

Wow you have some sort of attitude on you don't you?
Take a look at the HUKD SIM only megathread and you'll see what I mean.
There's no helping some people  the point is about finding a good deal, and there are some brilliant SIMO deals out there on better networks
It's also not relevant if the UK have cheaper pricing than anywhere else; even if that's the case in comparison to the other UK deals this still has a way to go until it's on par with what else is offered.

Ok, I'll compare it to India.....bloody hell the UK telecom companies are overpriced! I was getting 3gb of data A DAY for 60 days for under £4.
I think you might need to reword your statement, or take the shower you mentioned.
£10 for 1000mins and 2gb data in the current market is overpriced when you compare it like for like. There's no disputing that - just look at the sim only deals posted on here in the past couple of weeks.

£4 per month is pretty fair (pro rata) when you realise that the average annual wage income in India is £13K. Our average income in UK is £27K, but we have a much higher percentage of disposable income.

LOL nailed it. £10 is about 1.5 hours work for the poorest. British telecom deals are VERY low. Of course, you've got to have been in this country to have experienced the other side..... it was £40 to £50 average bill not all that long ago. I'm over joyed with £10 and 1000 mins, yeah you can get cheap but its splitting hairs and very far from 'Overpriced'
woldranger to tfish
15 Aug 17#33
It's £2 a month if you read it correctly. The previous comment doesn't really work either - one in India aren't all priced in relation to the wages paid, be either of you been there? Since when was the average sim only bill £40-50?! Being overjoyed at over paying? I think you're on the wrong site! It's not, "splitting hairs" when you compare a plan with 2gb to an equivalent with 5gb for the same price

I would prefer a Vodafone VMNO like this but the plans are just crazy priced.

Lebara piggy backs on the Vodafone Network, having said that, call quality still better on Vodafone than Lebara. The data is most likely 3G, but you'll have to check.

Do you have to sign up for anything with this or can you just use it for a month and then ditch it? I'm assuming it would be like the rest of the rolling 30 day contracts where you're lumbered with it for 2 months as the minimum term?
AndyRoyd to woldranger
11 Aug 17#7
If the minimum term is stated as 30 days, give notice on the day ordered and the minimum term will be... 30 days. But wasn't aware that this offer is a contract. I thought it was some opt-in PAYG arrangement, where there is a simple procedure to opt-out at minimal notice?

I've tried that with other 30 day contract sims and I've never been able to get it done within one 30 day term unfortunately.
MrPuddington
11 Aug 17#8
Wow, that is overpriced. I get more data and unlimited minutes for much less (than 10 pounds, not 1).

I'm confused. Are you saying this is overpriced because you get more data/minutes for less than £10 ??

Has anyone had any experience of only being able to use this offer for just the month? Does it automatically renew without you being able to just use it for the 30 days?
zirk
11 Aug 17#12
This will probably cost you £11 for 2 months (£1 first month + £10 for next month) as your unlikely to be able to cancel it until after at least 1 Day after Signing up, theres always a catch somewhere.
So expect to pay the equivalent to £5.50 each month of the 2 months if you cancel asap..
Sorry but that link doesn't seem to take me anywhere other than Paypal's search.
*No worries, I googled it and I think I've sorted it. Cheers for the heads up. I'll be sure to cancel any and everything when I get my sim

Lebara has an option when ordering called "Auto renew" - you can turn this on or off. I assume if you turn this off then you effectively have a 30 day contract which will not renew itself. This should address some concerns people have in the comments above. Hope that helps

Does this qualify for TCB? I noticed Lebara Mobile is on there, I guess it doesn't hurt to try!

FYI, TCB tracked but only at £1, not a tenner so it's showing £2.02 pending. Better than nothing!

OP, thanks again. My sim just arrived, I activated it and so far, all seems good!
The first thing I did once I logged onto my account was to turn off the auto-renew - that's thankfully located front and centre which is a good thing. I then got an email thanking me for setting up my account to auto renew! Their online chat numpties weren't the best - the first one ended the chat mid way, it just stopped, and the second needed everything explaining twice - but that's not really a Lebara thing, I'm amazed if I ever get half decent CS from a telecom company!
It's a bit odd that they sell the package as 1000mins, but on your account when you log in it shows unlimited...one of those, "fair usage" situations I'm guessing?

From terms and conditions...
Promotion is limited to 1 subscription per customer and valid for 1 month only.
Maybe try again with a different e-mail address and delivered to a neighbour? (I've done this with other 'one per household' offers before, quite successfully). If that doesn't work they may be enforcing the 'Promotion applies only to the first 1000 customers to apply.' clause.

Yeah that's what I did, set up a new account with a different email ady and a neighbours address. But when it comes to payment I tried my paypal and got the error again. If I try any of my bank cards then they have the address that the initial account was set up with
*edit* With a different email, address and payment type it goes through, even if the card is linked to the address you have previously used

My sim arrived yesterday - super quick. That's where the good news ends! It took me about an hour and a half to get it working! I couldn't activate it as it said there was another sim on that account - which there wasn't. When I contacted CS, it had to be through live chat and I was told there was no credit on my account. I asked for a call back and was told I could call 5588, so I ended the chat and called, but it turns out you have to pay to call them and I had no credit....and round and round we go! Back on another chat I eventually got a callback and the guy added the credit and said he'd have to pass the other part over to a different team who'd delete the details of that online account so that I could set it up again but with this number. (up to 48 hours).
But in the end, I got it working

Well done woldranger, persistence paid off. If makes you wonder how these companies continue operating with such atrocious customer service. Not found a good mobile phone company yet. Worst one so far has been Vodafone, though Three came a close second once.

I've never had a telecom company with a good CS department, but the worst for me by a million miles was the peoples operator - each and every time I contacted them they screwed things up, and I made a lot of calls!

It's £8 for 1000 UK mins, 2GB data, 1000 UK texts and 1000 international minutes.
No credit check
You can maybe use the promo code on that too
