Indeed, waste even more money buying 4k rubbish. Sam, back under your bridge.

I wouldn't spent £250 on a JVC....maybe when they were real JVCs perhaps...

I own this TV. The picture quality if alright, although I wish I would have spent a bit of extra money for a nicer panel.
Although, the interface and remote for this TV are AWFUL. I would stay away just for this reason alone. There is not many options in the menus and the remote never seemed to work properly. Also if you were wanting to have this work well with a Harmony or any other universal remotes, you are in for a bit of work. I got it to work with my Harmony hub, but unlike other good branded TV's, this one never remembers what input it is on.
If you need a cheap decent panel for your mum or something go ahead and get this. I personally would just save up a couple extra months and buy something you won't want to replace in a year or two.

My issue with Vestel TVs isn't so much whether you'll want to change it, more likely that you'll HAVE to change it. Reliability is shocking (plus Currys inability to conform with SoGA /Consumer Act).

Bought this in store two weeks ago for £299 so not as big a saving as they make it out to be.
Its nothing special when you compare it to those fancy Samsungs which they happen to have put next to this in the shop. But the picture isn't too bad for the cost and unfortunately it is the biggest size we can fit into the space it is in. Biggest problem with it to me is that there seems to be a slight lag in the picture compared to the sound. I have delayed the sound on the sky settings but it doesn't let you delay it enough to cancel it out altogether. I shall have to have another look at the weekend, see if there is anything else I can do.

Nothing special TBH, just a 42" 1080p Vestel/UMC. I think this is pretty much the usual price?
I grabbed one of the 49" (Sharp) ones at £199 last Black Friday. I gave it away as a gift and it's pretty rubbish. I did manage to get a £50 partial refund on it though, so can't grumble at £149.

Yep its a Vesttel, and JVC is a PC World exclusive brand. JVC licence the name to PCW in the UK.
OK for its cost, we have a 24 ince JVC in the kitchen, works fine but as pointed put its notning special, and the viewing angle could be wider which may be an issue if its to be you main tv..
