Great price for this Ultra book from Jumper. Granted, the processor is a bit naff but given it's price, it's definitely worth considering if it fits your budget. Quad Core Celeron, 6GB DDR3 and a 256GB SSD should keep it nice and fast!

I don't understand the retailer which was always considered as trouble company now suddenly nobody points out or reporting any bad thing and flooded with lot of laptop deals, either is someone profit behind those deals or maybe there is a miracle a bad company and is now peoples favourite, I understand if someone take risk for cheap mobiles but for such amount I am surprised

Any retailer that sells in high volumes is going to have a proportion of 'bad' orders. There are people here who think that Ebuyer is Satan on Earth. I've ordered from Amazon before and the majority of the time, they've been fine but I ordered a printer from them once and they sent me a inkjet refill and claimed that was item in the listing (it wasn't). Tooks weeks of wrangling to sort out. Ordered a Christmas gift from them once and they didn't mention it was coming from Amazon Italy through a notorious courier company known for its bad/slow service. Never arrived in time for Christmas. Told them that if their product was not in the UK warehouse, they should say so in the listing but they're not interested in changing anything as making more money (and paying little to no UK corporation tax) by leveraging their European network is more important to them.
No idea what Gearbest were like the past but I've ordered things from them in the last couple of years and haven't had a problem. Delivery is slow, returns are going to be problematic, CS probably isn't great but you buy from them knowing that they're not going to be John Lewis. That's why the stuff is alot cheaper.
As for this particular thread/deal, its for Lightinthebox which is a truly awful retailer. Personally, I wouldn't touch them with a 100ft bargepole. It's also not the best product for the price, yet it's posted by the Editor of HUKD. I see that you edited your post but in response to your question about profit, I make nothing on the deals that I post, but you might want to the person who posted this particular deal if he makes any money on it (Hint: see the full website link that this deal uses....) This deal seems also to have magically gone 'hot' even when it makes no sense for it to get the heat that it does....

I'd say that the £177 EZ Book 3 Pro is a better buy than this for the following reasons:
- Aluminium build instead of plastic - More compact form factor (13.3" screen) and thinner - IPS panel screen - Intel wireless AC rather than just N - M.2 slot for SSD upgrade (256GB M.2 2242 SSD can be had for ~£60) - additional 'spare' 64GB of eMMC can then be used for additional storage or as Windows backup installation - Windows 10 English (ie no additional Windows license key required or having to buy Windows 10 and doing a completely new install)
You mentioned that as a different benefit which has absolutely nothing to do with the screen size so why mention screen size!
Picard123 to Agharta
17 Aug 17#29
Because the 14" screen on this is TN and the 13.3" screen on the Pro is IPS.
That's why.
AND the screen size results in a slimmer, more compact footprint.
This laptop is 10-15% longer and wider than a Macbook Air 13 for example and over 50% thicker!!!
Agharta to Picard123
17 Aug 17#30
Which is irrelevant if you want a larger screen hence my point that 13.3" v 14" is not a benefit. Most of your points are valid but a smaller screen size is not better per se. Capiche?

£60 for a 256Gb M.2 SSD is optimistic in the current market. Closer to £80 would be realistic.
The Windows 10 installation on the eMMC is often tied to the activation, so moving it to an SSD might invalidate it, so worth bearing in mind.
Picard123 to reddit
18 Aug 17#40
The eMMC to SSD Windows transfer on these works fine. Just ghost the original image and resize the partition.
Yeah can definitely get a 256GB M.2 SSD for £60 - I've just ordered one:
Also wondering about customs charges etc. Any views?

Many Thanks OP. Very tempted by this - generally favourable review here:
Couple of minor problems: Windows 10 was Chinese and the reviewer wasn't sure about the screen TN or IPS.

In regards to this processor, how would it perform in everyday computing. I usually have a few Firefox tabs open at the same time, watch YouTube, Thunderbird running, onenote, using word /excel, occasionally run Photoshop for a bit of basic editing. I currently have a 4th gen i5 with ssd and 8gb ram. Would this feel too laggy ?

Just to add to the spec, the WiFi is single band n using a realtek rtl8723b, if you plan to use Bluetooth it could well affect your WiFi as they both use the same single antenna. Also, the webcam is in a strange place, in the bottom left of the screen, bit odd.

Agharta
17 Aug 17#23
The single core performance is about 40% of a Core i5-7200U and the same for multi-core workloads which makes it roughly equivalent of an i3 @ 1 -1.2GHz. So it will struggle with some basic stuff at times: cpubenchmark.net/com…865

You can link your monzo card (mastercard) to paypal hence double protection and can fall back onto mastercard if you need to. Monzo gives 100% perfect interbank exchange rates. Nothing to lose and save some more money.
I just bought a xiomi powerbank from miniinthebox which I think is the same company, its listed as £11.61 but cost me £10.87 with monzo handling the usd conversion.
Pretty sure it would work for lightinthebox on this laptop too.

Unless monzo offer the same level of protection as Paypal then I would stick with Paypal.
Ever so lightly cheaper at Geekbuying for £224.16.
Lightinthebox ad does show 100% off shipping though, so may work out cheaper, although expedited shipping is almost certainly going to attract customs fees.

its 275usd and I think you can pay in usd and ship to uk. So pay in USD using a monzo card or card that gives perfect exchange rate and it should work out to £213.51 at todays rate
