This is a pointless argument. Some people will see this as a bargain, some won't.
If you regularly pay £30 for this then at £20 it can be classed as a bargain IMO.
However I'd say Jim Beam at £13 or Wild Turkey 81 @ £15 is better value.

Who ever pays full price on this site?
MattyGr to m5rcc

Completely irrelevant.

Not really - this is a money saving site.

23 Aug 17#52
It's not about the site though, it's about the product being reduced by 33% which for many can be seen as a bargain.
m5rcc to MattyGr
23 Aug 17#53
And I can confirm to you that it isn't, given Sainsbury's often reduce it to £20 and the fact it has been cheaper than £20. NO ONE pays £30 - it's a ridiculous RRP and the mean price is nearer to £26 throughout the year.
MattyGr to m5rcc
23 Aug 17#54
Ah so you've confirmed that no one pays £30.
That's that sorted then!

Everyone except yourself it would appear. Why would anyone pay full price for anything with the access to information we have today and the help of this site?

Because the saving doesn't matter to them or they have better uses for their time.

Because the price is much lower than normal selling price.

Doesn't make it a bargain. Just makes it the cheapest price going.

Bargain - a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.
m5rcc to jrandrews72
23 Aug 17#39
Exactly - "much more". It is often at £20 and it has been £18 too - therefore not a bargain.
jrandrews72 to m5rcc
23 Aug 17#40
Most of the time it costs much more than £20.. £20 is therefore a bargain. £18 would be an even better bargain. If the usual price was close to £20 it would not be a bargain. Remember this is the 1l bottle. Mysupermarket is tracking this as 26% below average.
..simply that if a Deal poster is new, you should give them the benefit of the doubt. I think you're nit-picking. The fact that it's 1000 degrees plus means people like it and think it's worth buying. Whether the opinion is "pretty good price" or a "bargain", doesn't really matter.
m5rcc to louiselouise
23 Aug 17#35
That is of course your opinion. What is fact is that it is the cheapest price currently. What is not fact is that it is a bargain.

I'm one of those weird people that prefers JD Honey - my local Tesco Express had 35cl JD Honey RTC for £7.54 a few days ago so I got myself two bottles of that. Also got Buffalo Trace 70cl for £12.48 and Bacardi Carta Fuego 70cl (think it's meant to be like Fireball? Not tried yet) for £10.74.
Tempted to get myself a biggie...

Never had issues with Sainsbury's JD sales, but the 1L bottles I've bought from Tesco when they were £17 made people sick.. even if you only had like 2-3 coctails, the next morning was rough. I suspect a fake batch or they deliberately make them worse
