I quite like the idea of the separate battery format, ie if you’re
working under your car and want to rest your head on the ground the headlights
with the battery on the back of the headset is a PIA.

natural a gluteus maximus exercise regime should be considered.
Its fine if you don't mind wearing a sack of spuds on your head!! 290g, is that with batteries? Not a problem if you are not moving much but no good if you are active.

Or Gearbest/Banggood. This was never worth £30, and I'd be surprised if it's even worth the £10 Halfords are selling it for.

Just to let any potential buyers know, you can't attach the battery pack to the head strap so have to attach it to your trousers or belt and have the wire running up to the torch. For that reason it's no good for me as I prefer to work in my birthday suit. But it's probably a good torch for the price.

Just be aware, the mechanism that allows you to tilt the head lamp is pretty poor, it goes floppy and then the lamp droops.
