Looks a bargain for this 27 piece metric socket set which includes a lifetime guarantee, use code B17TOOLS15 to reduce to £10.62. Free click and collect.
There are still out there if you got them in your recently viewed items (bottom of page) on the Halfords website, I ordered a set for a work colleague to be picked up Wednesday by adding to basket instead of trying to open the page...code still worked as well
Also their ebay page has them for sale with delivery to local store for free but you cannot use the code..still cheap though. ebay.co.uk/itm…Xmv
I also picked up a set earlier...couldn't search on the Halfords website, but
they came up in my recently viewed items, kept getting an oops page when
trying to look at item so done an "add to basket" and it allowed me to
search for stores.....done web order and happy days.....also
picked up the 10 piece spanner set at the same store by doing the
same thing (add to basket from recently viewed items).

Picked this up today with a 15 piece socket set on rail advanced pro (£5.10), an adjustable wrench (£3.40) and 2 1/4 extensions advanced pro (£1.70) the lot came to around £20, the guy looked at me like I was robbing the place, couldn't believe the price I got them all for lol, I should have been wearing a mask!
Gutted I missed the 10 piece combo spanners for a fiver!

I've just picked the set I ordered it seems ok for the money. Thanks again OP.
Probably been removed as theres none left, due to people being greedy and buying 3 or 4 sets more than they need

Just need the 1/2" set to drop in price now. I've patiently waited, rather than buying the £100+ full set, to buy them all individually and save a small fortune. I already have the 3/8 set from a previous post a few months ago, so long as this order comes through I'll have the 1/4" set too... I have a fairly decent 1/2" set already, so no massive rush.
Cheers for posting OP

11 Aug 17#62
Yes agreed I'd never pay £60 for it. Someone might have, but I think a lot of people look at these deals wrong, because where else can you get a similar quality set for this price? If you can't, then it's a deal!
1/4" is the size of the square on the ratchet which the (metric) sockets that come with it, fit on to.

I have just picked up my set and am amazed at the quality absolutely excellent.. One small prob I had was concerning attaching a socket to the ratchet handle. I have never seen a ratchet set that required a button to be pressed so as to enable the socket to be connected, like wise when removing/changing socket. Very happy with purchase.

Yes buy a Kia but remember its lifetime warranty is only 7 years.
WDTV123
11 Aug 17#54
Lol what. So by that logic i should buy a kia car as they have lifetime warranty because surley they must be better designed and by using higher quality of materials compared to the elite counterparts. Sorry i believe in you pay for what you get.
Im sure halfords hate customers returning low priced tools whilst they sit and browse in their store. Coupled with that probaly have a very cost effective process for replacing and refurbing returned tools where they can try and offer something different such as "lifetime guarantee" compared to their competitors.
Yeah mines could have been a faulty ratchet by chance and i can accept that however i have at least 6 in the drawer and different makes and sizes and only has the halfords 3/8 broke as a result was put off getting another. I have there stubby ratchet only now and its excellent i admit.
If i had reviewed the ratchet when i bought it, it would have been 5 star. Doubt i would have had the intrest to log back in year later and reveiw after it broke for something i didnt pay alot of Money for... Not sure about u.
Personally i dont want to get into an argument about it, i like halfords tools, but I wont buy another ratchet from them.
Edit... I maybe should have said in context carrying regular repairs. I think this kit at this price is excellent for keeping in the boot in case of breakdown
lifesoordinary
11 Aug 17#53
Don't forget there is a lifetime guarantee on the halfords advanced tools
nougat
11 Aug 17#52
It has a lot of relevance, it means they make them to a higher standard to last a lifetime, they don't want to be replacing them over and over again. Whereas the relevance of a Halfords (advanced?) 3/8 ratchet failing after a year many years ago is dubious. Look at the reviews, you would expect at least one negative review if they weren't up to scratch
WDTV123
11 Aug 17#51
Yeah lifetime guarantee ... What relevance does this have to the reliabilty of the ratchet??... None.
Personally i dont want a ratchet breaking on me whilst working on the car and the embarrassment of returning a tenner ratchet and the inexperienced staff at halfofds claim i have misused it.
Not slating halfords tools by any means but personally i dont think there ratchets are the most engineered products. My 2 cents. Gave heat anyways.
Again good back up for being in the car and will probs end getting one for this.

10 Aug 17#20
1/4" is the size of the back of the socket where it locks on to the ratchet. All ratchets and breaker bars will be 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" (there are larger ones but normal folk usually don't have a use for them).

Infiltrator to RealistRaja
10 Aug 17#14
Never see a 1/4" spark plug socket in 40 years of tinkering with cars - 1/4" is too small for the torque required, needs to be a 3/8" drive set or 1/2"
