What if your cucumber has too much or too little girth?

Agree that most people who think about it would just put cling film on their cut fruit or vegetables, or put them in a tight bag. But I think what ASDA are hoping here is to raise awareness that things don't need to waste. Yes it's a gimmick, but a lot of the population are pretty daft and don't realise that they're wasting food when they don't need to (or they don't care I suppose).

So these reduce food waste by producing gimmicky rubbish that will end up getting binned? Hmm. You could always just put your fruit in a container.....

If you'll just throw it then just don't take it in the first place. These could be useful for reducing waster for people who will actually use them.

I've zero intention of taking one of these, any would anyone? Just use a regular container with a flat base, or a small plate or bowl. Pointless.

Strange whats wrong with just putting a bit of foil over it

This is reusable and it's a lot easier then trying to affix foil onto your fruit/veg.

I got one of these in my local asda the other day... I'm sorry to say I put it on my cucumber once and the novelty wore off  Asda making these for people to do what I did surely is more waste?? I dunno...

Now I've looked closer, I see what it is. When you expose the end of your cucumber. This prevents it getting juice all over the place. Probably keeps the smell in and the rot out too.

I went on Asda FB page and 99.9% of the shoppers haven't seen any of these nor did I when I went to Asda this morning
