Described as plastic with chrome effects. I'd guess chrome effect is the colour and there is no actual chrome but fully plastic.
Its the case of form over function - boils slowly, noisily and not the best in terms of filling and pouring. It may be a good price for this but it is not a good kettle.
Better and cheaper kettle is the TEFAL Maison KI260AUK currently £33 in most suppliers
