I've discovered that FM touch isn't playable on Android and have requested a refund. Guess I should've researched this first.
Assumed 'Touch' meant for tablets...

Football manager touch? I take it that it isn't the android version?

Snapped it up. Been a looong time since I played (champ man days) but Touch looks interesting.

Wasn't going to bother this year, but got sucked in by the price!

Just saw this and got very excited thinking this was for the upcoming 2018 game. Pity it wasn't. As stated this is for last years release and if the last few iterations are anything to go by it will be very similar minus whatever minor tweaks they make in the new game so £7 is a pretty good price if you wanted to try the game out. You can also update the database to include the most recent signings (see fan sites like fm-base, fmscout etc for these unofficial updates).

For what it's worth it's currently £37.99 on Steam and by owning this game you get 25% off (£9.49) making it £28.49. Another way of looking at it, is you're getting this game for free plus a couple quid off the the new game

FM games can normally be had for around £20 when they first come out.

So your going to pay £13+ (youll be lucky to get it for £20 on release for a steam key not from shady websites) for an incremental upgrade?
These yearly releases are getting more similar every year, and the updated transfers are not a reason anymore due to the free mods in Steam Workshop.

No, as I have had 2017 since it came out so this deal is of no use to me!
I may or may not buy 2018 depending on what it adds, I tend not to buy it if it doesn't add much. My point is that your £50 is a very big exaggeration. i.e the new game will be about 3 times the price of this rather than 7 times the price of it.
Oddly enough I hadn't played the game for ages (probably since Christmas) and have been hammering it the last 2 weeks!

Does anyone know where I can get the special edition from? Seems there aren't many around on eBay anymore.

It's sad that they don't include the editor in the standard price anymore.

Does the lack of editor mean I cant update the database?

I'm not sure. It's the "in-game" editor that you have to pay the extra for. So maybe FM2017 comes with a pre-game editor like it used to. Guess we'd have to purchase it to find out!

Thanks for the info. Do you know if Fm17 on Steam comes with FM Touch, or would you definitely need the 'special edition' for that?

I asked them on Facebook, and FM Touch for PC/Mac comes with this purchase as well. Bargain.

Thanks for the detective work - have also purchased!
I haven't played since the first iteration of Football Manager (grew up on champ man). 7 quid is a hell of a bargain but I'm worried i'll become quickly annoyed like I used to. Spend 30 hours fine tuning a team then get tonked 3-0 at home to Sunderland.
Has the game change much over the years? 7 quid doesn't seem like too much of a risk and I'm tempted to look up a few forums for some tips.
Heat added regardless of whether I pick it up.
