This is the 3rd time i've tried to get a deal like this from the microsoft store in the past year or so. Every time I've had a message saying I'm not connected to the internet. I've had no issues at all with my internet connection. Ms can stick it where the sun dont shine! :rage:

I'll just mention that DCS: World is free also, and it' the best flight sim available today. The base install includes two aircraft, you can choose to buy more, or not (although you'll want them all which is how they get you ) Enjoy...

I doubt many pro flight simmers would consider DCS the best Sim...
XP11 for realism followed by FSX. The rest are fancy gfx toys :sunglasses:

FSX was great in it's day and I got a lot of enjoyment out of it, it is aged now and has been bettered. While XP11 is great, especially for civy fans. DCS: World is definitely up there with it these days.

It's free, what have I got to lose? Bar nearly 4GB of download time and hard drive space

Downloaded it as Flight Unlimited 1 (1995) and 2 were pretty good, this is awful trash as it's basically a tablet game.
Avoid and download DCS instead.

Never having done any flight sim, can anyone tell me whether you need anything in the way of hardware to control it - other than a mouse?
And if it's as pants as reviews suggest, does anyone have any suggestions for better games in this genre?
"Approximate download size 3.44 GB", btw.

Haven't played this game. Used to play flight sim games years ago. Actually had the joystick you push/pull back on. I'd say having one of those makes it a lot more immersive.

To fly realistically you would need a yolk (hand controls) and optionally foot pedals. If you've got piles of cash then buy some instrument panels to set radios, etc.
You can pick up Microsoft FSX cheap online or if you've got more cash go for X-Plane 11.
My suggestions for better games: Flight Sim World (currently £14.99 with 25% off on Steam) seems to be getting decent reviews store.steampowered.com/app…280
This game is absolutely terrible. FSX beats it by a long-shot.

Anyone know how to purchase from a non-Windows device?
Seems a rather huge oversight that the device compatibility (presumably based upon your web browser's user agent) also locks out purchasing capability....

Then there are add-ons to improve the sim, such as better weather, scenery / terrain and flight evaluation / instruction.
Good luck!
