Received my order yesterday: apart from it being a slight pain to empty, it's a beast. Great power (can't believe how much crud it sucked from our carpets), easy to set up, manoverable, and comes with every attachment you could possibly imaging, including the large turbine head, slim hard flor tool, mini "tangle free turbine head", crevice/dusting attachment, stair tool, long flexible crevice tool, stubborn dirt brush and a dissolve carpet cleaner canister. Only question is where the hell to put everything! Great buy for £150

Bought - thank you! Now if a V8 would come down just a bit...

I paid about £400 for one of these about 3 years ago. It so bad I don't use it. I use my old upright Dyson.
Picks up OK but the brushes are so soft they don't really do much. On a hard floor the crumbs get flung forward rather than getting picked up. The worst part is emptying it, fills up so quick as the Max line is low on the canister. The dust never falls out out have to take the whole thing apart and scrape the fluff off the mesh on the inside. You get covered in dust every time you empty it.

Blocked lifetime filter = burnt out motor . Built in redundancy / regular Dyson service engineer visit . Motor change on later models is a pig

Read reviews online for this item - see Amazon.co.uk for example. Some serious flaws with this item

Carpet performance Rating: D Energy Efficiency rating: E
And a non replaceable, non washable "lifetime" filter (which in English translates to a loss of suction over time and a device built with a specific lifespan, designed to fail)

What is the 'specific lifespan' then?

I've seen the YouTube review of this by ibaisiac and also in store, the carpet performance is very strong, as will be on hard floor. Apparently the rating is done by government or something, basically they just test using the 1 standard head, however, this has a turbine head which is much better for carpets and cleans ace!
Not a Dyson enthusiast as I have a Henry myself, but going to consider getting this, as the Henry cleans well, but this is just easier to handle and I don't like the smell the Henry starts to give off after a few months of having used it, which other users have also complained about too.
