Anyone know the material type? I had a Poundland one and it was like a plastic bag, ripped quickly and ended up coated in duct tape (it basically became a duct tape cover) then I got an Oxford branded one which was made from some unrippable stitched nylon stuff and it's been great (other than water gets through like a tent when something is in contact, e.g. The seat and handlebars...).
Drawstring sounds like a good idea, the wind whips these things off otherwise

Waste of quid a Poundland. Going by the reviews, might be better saving the quid towards the Lidl one.

I got one from Poundland. The damn thing only covers 1/2 the bike and the material is thin like a refuse sack.

Mine lasted 2 days....before it ripped on handlebars. Left it over my spare bike for a few weeks and it started to fall apart. Lidl deal looks great

Mine's got a rip on the handlebars as well!! Think is because the damn thing is not quite wide enough to stretch across the whole bike. :unamused:

Would it cover a garden bench seat?

It is a decent size so measure your bench

These are good quality, I bought two last year and still going strong. Fits easily over road bikes with plenty of room to spare.

These types of covers are awful. I bought one very similar on eBay for 99p. They're not elasticated at the bottom, so the slightest gust of wind and your cover flies away. Totally useless imo.

with drawstring and strap to keep in place !!??
Got two - good stuff (I've used the £ land ones too - lucky if they last a few months, as well as heavier duty motorbike ones. these are a good compromise)

"bought one very similar" not the same one then . . .
This does have a drawstring and a strap to hold it in place
