Wow I'd save a whole £2.50 for the flights to Edinburgh. Thanks Ryanair. I'm gonna go easyjet they don't force me to buy a seat cos I'm travelling with a child

Supply & Demand. As demand is less when schools are in airlines and holiday companies etc. usually have more spare capacity to fill, and do this by reducing prices. and offering better deals.

It is the STANDARD to offer the best deals that most people with children cannot benefit without missing school, always has been and always will be. So stop saying it.

Why wouldn't you buy a seat for a child I have kids and always expect to pay their way

I think you're misunderstanding what the poster meant. Of course you buy a child a seat if they're over a certain age but Ryanair's booking system separates groups of people automatically, unless you pay for reserved seating.

If you buy a ticket to travel on Ryanair they are all adult prices, no child fares. If you want the cheapest flight then you can't expect the luxury of sitting together, you then have to pay a seat price, and then you can chose from available seating places. If you don't like it find another airline. Cheap is cheap for a reason. And it is Ryanairs business model and I use it to my advantage.

Deary me you're misunderstanding too. Did I mention child fares? No. Was I pointing out that you don't sit together yes. Unless you pay a set fee per seat, you can't guarantee to be sitting together. Perhaps read before posting a patronizing rant?

And what's wrong with paying for reserved seats if you all want to sit together. You would reserve seats for concerts , matches etc if you want to sit together but no one complains about that. People just like to moan about Ryan air policies and that's a fact.

An easier way to find the cheapest fares is to go to Ryanair.com click 'Plan' tab at the top, then click 'Fare Finder', then enter your departure airport. Then leave the destination / to box as 'anywhere' or change it to anywhere if it isn't already. Then click 'Let's Go'.
Will then bring up a list of destinations in price order of lowest to highest, this is for the cheapest flight on that route - so it may not be that price for your preferred dates. However you can change it to suit your date range by putting in your fly out / return dates on the results page. You can also set your budget too.
