I was beginning to get bored of the usual radio stations in this country, until a radio station called Fix Radio came on air across the South East, UK. It's a feel good radio station with great music you simply don't hear on many of the other stations.

Can the alarm be set for week days only?

I got one of these this afternoon. The loudspeaker is pretty tinny, but it is otherwise fine.
I'm not planning on using it with batteries, don't care about DAB+ and the sound is fine when plugged into external speakers (not included) through the (minijack) headphone socket.
It's OK vfm for £20, but you'd have to be crazy to pay 60 quid for it.

Bush, the defunct rubbish brand which is now the Argos own brand. Cold at any price, especially as it does not have DAB +

Yes..... three national ones came out 18 months ago. Another national one Union Jack came out recently. There has also been some local ones. There will be more national and local + stations coming out.

Bush don't seem to mention DAB+ in the manuals. The way to check is to do a full tune & look to see if it tunes the DAB+ stations which are Union Jack, Magic Chilled, Fun Kids & Jazz FM.
I got a Bush from Argos a few years ago via a deal on here & it has DAB+, I find it had to believe that these newer ones don't.

One of the problems i've found, is that non DAB+ radios will tune into these + stations and show them on the display, but they will not play them. There are still a hell of a lot of DAB radios being sold, that aren't DAB+..... and all too often the retailers and the manufacturers make no mention that they dont recieve +.

What is dab+?

A DAB+ radio can receive those stations that are only broadcast in DAB+ and more DAB+ stations are becoming available. DAB+ produces better quality audio with lower bitrates, than plain DAB. Its also more future proof. Also a DAB+ radio can be used abroad in those countries that only use DAB+. Personally, i wouldn't buy any radio that isn't DAB+... why restrict yourself to DAB only stations !

That's why it's been driving me mad, the station I listen to in the car I couldn't find on my home dab radio, I even plugged in the shed thinking I might catch it outdoors in the garden. Now I know I need dab+.

Agree awful battery life and the £17.99 portable one also from Argos is even worse . Go for a decent make or you'll regret it :imp:
