As much as I hate to say it BT are pretty hard to beat at the moment especially if you take on bundles, for example.

£8.99 unlimited calls
£31 unlimited 52Mbps fibre bb (Inc line rental)

I've got 3 sim only mobiles from them too

4Gb data, unlimited minutes & texts £25 per month for ALL 3 lines.

So I've got FTTC 52mbps and 3 mobiles for £65 a month along with unlimited calls on the landline too.

Amazing value plus the extras like 100gb could storage, parental controls (if you use them), anti virus etc.

It's pretty tough to beat imho

So at the moment I have the fibre box in the front room and a normal telephone socket in the back room. Would the back room socket need to be converted into a fibre connection port and would the engineer be able to sort this for the £9,99? Currently running my fibre through plug connection T-Link socket but I would like a better more reliable connect. Any advice appreciated.

This looks a very good deal.

I bet it isn't available to existing customers our contract is up on the 21st of this month and they would only take £2 off of our current price if we chose too stay! You're a lucky one then, I've had nothing but problems with BT over the last 3 years. Wasted hours of my life on the phone to them trying to get problems sorted. Latest one, renewed contract in April. Was going to cancel my TV package but chappy persuaded me by saying I'd get BT Sport free for 12 months. Switched on at the start of the month to watch MotoGP only to find they'd cancelled my BT Sport. Apparently it stopped being free on 31st July. No notification what so ever. They don't seem to understand that I'm within my rights to cancel my contract if they change the contract.

I've had 3 different people telling me different stories on the phone....Yet another case had been raised using Resolver.

As per the title, the latest BT deal but better than last months imo.

This is a special link via MSE that frankly smashes the £34.99/month on BTs own website.

Description from MSE

You pay normal BT line rental, currently £18.99/mth. Weekend calls to UK landlines included – for others, see BT call costs.Discounted fibre, £9/mth for the year. A huge discount on the standard £28.50/mth.£9.99 set-up, usually £59.99. Again, a big discount on standard costs.Get £150 on a prepaid Mastercard that you MUST claim. we have this and it is £61 a month with BT Broadband, with the sports channel which sometimes works. Rip off for existing customers to see it so much cheaper .....
horsepills to joesmum
17 Aug 17 #119
Thing is, nobody should be paying £61 per month for your package. If you are, then you have clearly not managed to sign up to or negotiate a decent discount.

I pay less than £40 a month for unlimited BT Infinity 2 & calls + sports. Many others have similar discounts in place. If you're not prepared to sort out a discount that you are happy with then it's a bit daft to complain that others are getting a better deal.

Yes go for it. I've done the same at least 3 times over the years. Luckily it's worked everytime... Cashback & MasterCard & discount.

Just done this again and it's tracked again. All you have to do is manually add the link from MSE minus their affiliate parameters.

I'd go for TCB though as they're paying better.

This should bring the price down by equal to £9 a month!

Good luck

productsandservices.bt.com/pro…nd/?s_cid=xxx&vendorid=xxx=Affwin&utm_medium=Ref&utm_campaign=Affiliate&awc=xxx=xxx

Notice the different prices! (See attached image)

[Note I have removed tracking detail so people don't lock the link]

2. Next replace the first part of the URL (highlight in bold above)

With a direct link to the MSE discounted special offer page in the browser while keeping the rest of the stuff start with the ?

productsandservices.bt.com/pro…tml?s_cid=xxx&vendorid=xxx=Affwin&utm_medium=Ref&utm_campaign=Affiliate&awc=xxx=xxx

You will see the new lower price for the exact same deal.

3. Wait for cashback to track and confirm. Request the MasterCard after install.

That's £7.16 a month after cashback if you get everything.

Good luck. Mine is a pint! :innocent:

Hello all, I am moving into a flat amongst other flats and am looking for a decent broadband deal. I don't think the flat has landline however and neither do I plan on wanting it. Is it possible to get this deal and not install the landline or is there a better deal to get?

Thanks all!

You will not be able get bt broadband without a landline I'm afraid or from any other providers unless you get mobile broadband which is what you definitely should consider.

Got the Virgin price increase letter, +£3.99 per month! Perfect timing.

Rang them up this morning to cancel and he said I would have to pay to terminate, I read the small print out about being able to cancel with no penalty and he conceded, cheeky barstool. He did say I would need to sign up with another provider first otherwise I would loose my number, fair enough.

Just going through the sign up process with BT but also stumbled across a deal with Now TV for Fibre, line rental and a Now TV pass for £32.99 per month with £22 set up.

23 Aug 17 #263
I got a better deal than that from their referral dept but that was earlier in the year before the forthcoming price hike. I said no to their first offer when they called & then they rang back again a couple of days later with a much better offer. Risky strategy but if your leaving anyway....

Thanks for that; they rang last year which i accepted ie £21, this year they are way out, i told them to reconsider and ring back if they can compete as i have 12 days left to cancel; but maybe since "bolt" lost the race they can't compete anymore.

I know the deals good, however, the BT customer service is appalling. There great at luring you in with nice and polite person on the phone, but as soon as you have an issue then they don't want to know you. You get virtually ping ponged from department to department.

My work colleague had no internet connection for over 2 months after the installation date! and they were charging £500 to cancel the broadband.

I would avoid BT at all costs. Sky on the other hand are very negotiable over the phone. Try them.

If I select to pay the line rental up front, it adds BT Sport (which I don't want) at £3.50 a month. If I select to pay the line rental monthly, it doesn't add the £3.50 a month BT Sport. What's that about?

I am currently building a house for my family, expect to move in mid october. Two questions if someone can help with an answer
1. Does the footpath need digging up to have this placed into teh new property ?
2. Is it possible to secure this deal now, with the aim of it going live in October ?

Thanks folks

Many thanks for the quick reply. Another question if you could assist. Is the router ok, or worth replacing with something better ? The new property is quite large, so I am worried the signal will deteriorate before it reaches bedrooms, or the garden. I wondered if there was a way to try and maintain a strong signal, regardless of where I was in or out the property ?

When clicking through it says under:

I am trying to sign up to this deal and also get a £3.50 charge added for BT Sport per month. Although I want to pay line rental monthly. It states...

'Ongoing Monthly Payments:
  • £3.50 with your new BT TV and broadband contracts (12 month minimum terms required)

II'm not even signing up to the BT TV so no idea why it's randomly added this, I even ticked the box saying I do not want BT Sport further back on the order page. This makes it 31.49 per month. Anyone else had this and have a solution ?

208.89 + 108+ 9.99= 326.88 line (rental saver)

326.88 - 150 - 90 = 86.88

Couple of questions on this deal - if anyone could answer.

1) why are people favoring tcb rather than quidco when quidco is paying more - is it just tcb seen more reliable at paying out?

2) have a relative that has problems with internal wiring on telephone line shorting would bt fix this for their broadband to be installed?

One other point - I rang BT and they confirmed that caller id should be free on any new 12 line rental just tick the bt privacy box

Its fibre to the fibre box in the street, after that it uses copper wire ie standard landline to bring it your house, so in my case through the telephone posts, no digging footpaths if the landline is delivered in your road via hanging telephone wires.
The Home hub router is supposing to be good, but I find it doesn't get through the walls, I suspect I need to change the frequency channel to avoid it clashing with other routers using the same channel.

As I mentioned previously currently have Sky standard broadband. If I switch to BT FIbre is new cabling required or holes drilled through the walls?

House is typical 70's semi with telephone cabling underground. The master phone socket is in the middle of what basically is an open plan living room with current Sky router plugged into master socket and everything working off wifi. Will Fibre require new cabling to the outside or is just a new master socket?
samspud
24 Aug 17 #370
No. Though called fibre it uses your same copper wires in the house - only fibre to the cabinet
Rastafari
24 Aug 17 #371
Neither. Same master socket. No drilling. No new cables. Openreach simply needs to unplug your line at the street cabinet and re-plug. They won't even need to visit your house (usually).
JohnnyUtah
24 Aug 17 #372
Cheers. Tried googling and some posts said a new faceplate for fibre was needed on the master phone socket so an engineer's visit would be needed.

Hi, last minute decision to sign up to BT Fibre (Infinity 1) (currently with Sky Broadband for many years)

Sorry if this has already been answered in the previous 10 pages but are most of you choosing to pay 12 months' line rental up front?
In the event that I wish to cancel BT Fibre (in the cooling-off period), would I get a full refund of the 12 months' line rental if I've already paid up front?
Or is it better to pay line rental monthly in case I wish to cancel?

Thanks so much for any advice about this and/or any related issues!
Anthonyuk
24 Aug 17 #391
With Plusnet who I was with beforehand, you get 14 days to cancel the line rental and have it refunded. It will be the same with BT I have no doubt.

If you pay for the line rental in advance you get two massive benefits

1. Its cheaper (About £1.80 per month cheaper)
2. You also get Caller Display for free for a year too which costs £1.75 normally.

So by paying upfront you are effectively saving £3.50 per month.
Over.The.Knee
24 Aug 17 #392
Thank you so much for your very quick and helpful reply! Had no idea about the Caller Display discount - I was going to pay for it anyway.

Sorry I'm a latecomer to this, I just realised there are different prices if you go via quidco or via a different link. Have you / anyone else managed to get the cheaper price via quidco and had it track? Would quidco actually pay out? Must admit these potential complications are making me reconsider and wait to see if Virgin Media have a deal anytime soon (though probably far more costly)..

Ordered and tracked with Quidco at £105.00 If Quidco pays plus the £150 MasterCard, then this works out at a net cost to me of £71.79 for the year or £5.98 per month. This is paying line rental up front. Everything crossed! £105 Quidco ends tonight.

I have 3 months left with plusnet at £40 a month on my current package, apparently BT are willing to pay upto £300 to get people out of their current contracts. But the only information i could find was this 2015 article:

home.bt.com/-nb…644

does anybody know if they are still doing this? and also if i do take their offer will they then be able to decline me from having cashback & the £150 gift card (which somehow seems to be showing at £125 now?)

Thanks

I'm paying £27.99 for line rental, weekend calls and BB 52mbps (now £31.99) = £335.88

less £150 reward = £185.88 = £15.49 per month

less possible £90 topcashback = £95.88 = £7.99 per month

You can still do that. Just call BT and ask them to get Line Rental Saver / Pay a years line rental in advance. It takes an extra call but pushes your cost to about £5. So if you have spare 200£ then call BT today!
chocci
26 Aug 17 #424
But if the speeds aren't as promised, can you leave and get a pro rata refund of the line rental?
MR1123
26 Aug 17 #425
Within cooling off period, definitely after that is a battle with the ombudsman. Usually the speeds and service you get within the cooling off period is what you would get rest of your contract from my experience, talk talk done a seek one on me, they said speeds will get better on 4th week, it didn't and they wouldn't allow me to cancel so be wary of such information from others if they do say this.
chocci
26 Aug 17 #426
Thats why I would never pay line rental up front as BT say it can take up to 4 weeks for the line to reach optimum speeds yet the cooling off period is only 14 days.

I've taken a screenprint of my minimum guaranteed speed as it isnt in the contract. Currently with Sky Infinity and best I can get is 20mbps after openreach did some line 'repairs' (was 38mbps). Will be interesting to see if I get the guaranteed 45mbps :unamused:

I just cancelled my order. I had BT broadband in the past. Their customer services is dire, the service kept disconnecting and they used to say it's fine as long as it doesn't happen more than 5 times a day (err, what?). Anyway, I still took this offer because it's cheap. With activiation 3 days away, I've been getting nervous. I'm currently on Sky Fibre Pro, 80/20 profile with a static IP, and the service is pretty solid. £20 a month inc line rental (I'm on an offer). Having had such a poor experience with BT in the past, I've been biting my nails at the prospect of leaving Sky's solid fibre service, to a potential year of hell with BT (as I had before). So I contacted BT customer service on Twitter, to ask about their cooling off peroid. I wanted to know if the service is awful, how long have I got to cancel it without penatly. I assume it's 14 days (which is pretty pointless anyway, due to the broadband stabilisation period). So, the Twitter agent pointed me to the link to their Ts & Cs. It says:

cooling-off period – the period from the date the agreement is made until 14 days after:

  • the equipment (if any) is delivered;
  • the service start date; or
  • the day you receive your order confirmation;
whichever is latest.

So, as long as I cancel before the 14th day of the service start date, it's within the cooling off period and thus penalty free, right? I asked BT's Twitter agents to confirm this, they replied "No, the cooling off period isn't a trial period it is the time you have to change your mind". As this appears to be a direct contradiction of their Ts & Cs, I sent them a DM asking the same question, whether the cooling-off period in the Ts & Cs is current, hoping a different agent would be more awake. The reply was

"Are you looking to cancel services?

If so, please call the customer options team on 0800 783 1401"

This is BT's customer service. If it's like this before the service goes live, what will it be like once they've got me by the balls with a live service? I cancelled the order. Sticking with Sky.

I had the same issue. Find your email from BT which would have come on 24 (I guess). Somehow some orders are showing wrong date at BT and hence this discrepancy. Just go to chat or call BT and log the problem. When they reply that you signed after 24th then just take a screenshot of your email and forward. They will accept their mistake and ask you to tell them of the card details once it arrives to add another £25.

This is what happened with me...I am waiting for my card to call BT for rest of £25. Fingers crossed and goodluck !!

Sent them a mail asking why it was £125 not £150, they simply replied with something along the lines "that my reward card was in the post and wait so many days". Laughable response completely ignoring the question so I replied asking the same question again. This time they told me my order was placed on the 25th and the offer was £125. So I replied for a 3rd time with my email confirmation from the 24th. Now they've said to send them the card reference when it comes and they'll top up the remaining balance.

So for anyone else on the 24th you may get caught up in this nonsense where they claim it was the 25th

Yep, my Sky TV is finishing this week and broadband in October - despite being offered better deals by, for example Talk Talk, Sky simply refuse to match. How bizarre.

It is as if they are a few years out of date still thinking that they are the top dog.

They did offer me basic Sky package for a tenner a month but I pointed out that I could get that cheaper with Now TV boxes and that it was broadband I was after. I got the impression that they wanted to sign me up for TV so that I would be forced into a much more epxensive broadband fibre monthly cost.

I'm another with the reduced balance reward card as it took them two hours to confirm my order.

They even argued that it was correct! And that as the offer expired during processing, it would be for the lower amount. Finally got them to escalate it via live chat by pointing out if that was the case and the price was now lower, would my price be reduced?

I got connected on Tuesday and claimed the card a couple of hours later without an issue (£150). Received an email virtually straight away to say it was on its way and it would take up to 30 days to arrive.

Can’t really fault this deal to be honest. Managed to get BT Sports added to my Sky package for 12 months free (HD free for 6 months) as well as the caller display on the phone. TCB still showing as pending, if that comes inalong with the £150 cashback card then it’s been a major success.

Activated a couple of days ago, slight problem activating land line but all playing the end.

Seems fast but a little unresponsive on web pages / Netflix etc compared to my old non-fibde setup..but not all that noticeable.

£150 reward card claimed...

Fingers crossed for tcb although not holding my breath haha.

Ordered 24th July, was connected on the 11th Sept

So did mine so glad its gone through

I'm trying to follow up my £150 reward - will give the company a ring and report back what they say.

EDIT: Tried to ring but got bored waiting over 10 mins. I've emailed them. Has anyone had any luck with getting their rewards card?

Hi,

Did you go through TopCashBack or Quidco?
MarzBarz
2 Oct 17 #522
Hello,

Topcashback

How about yourself?
JohnnyUtah
2 Oct 17 #523
Hi, neither yet. I need to change but keep watching the BT deals each week to pick the best time to change and was interested to know which cashback site was paying out. Thanks for the reply.
MarzBarz
2 Oct 17 #524
No problem
Worked out a treat in the end

£28 per month = £336
£150 mastercard
£90 cash back

Works out to be £96 for the year for Fibre broadband, Weekend calls and BT Sports.

i contacted BT regarding the reward card and received the following email:

"Thank you for your continued patience.
We have located your original claim and this has exceeded our agreed lead times. Unfortunately the claim has experienced delays due to internal issue within our claims process.
However I can confirm this issue has been rectified and I can see from our records your claim has been re-processed and scheduled for dispatch and delivery.
Your card should be delivered within the next 20-25 days. We aim for delivery well within that timeframe.
Again we apologise for the delay but we are working hard to resolve this for you as soon as possible.
Best wishes,
Kavya
BT.com Vouchers Team"

It may be worth contacting them to resubmit your claim.

I have just had my £90.00 Cash back from TCB paid out today. Very quick considering I only went live with BT on 4th September (TCB stated 9 weeks at the time of ordering).

Still awaiting the £150 Reward card from BT which states it takes up to 20 days (from dispatch date?) of 14th September.
Anyone else received either the cash back or reward card?

Cheers!

My cashback just went payable at £95, I never put in the highest cashback claim either. Would I risk losing 95 if I asked them to look into the claim??

BT now 54mbps dl, 9mbps ul

Sky was 22mbps dl, 9mbps ul

Reward card update. I rang customer service and he said he would escalate the case and someone would email within 48 hours. In passing he mentioned 30 working days as a timeframe...I thought it was 30 calendar days? That didn't happen so I emailed and have received this.

Sorry you’ve not received your voucher as yet.

I can confirm that voucher is on its way to you and you should receive this within the next 10 - 15 working days.

Given that I first claimed it on the 5th September... They certainly like dragging it out.

7 Oct 17 #543
i'm still waiting on mine and I ordered it on the 8th Sept. Will wait until the postie has been on Monday and then get it touch with them.

has anyone received their reward card without having to contact them yet?

This rewards card is a mastercard with £150 credit on it so I can spend in most places and etc?

So not bother about the extra and just stick with 95?
