In the market for a new system and this seems to be a very good price for 3.5GHz dual-core, 8GB RAM and a Strix GTX1050TI. Should be saving at least £50 over buying the components individually, and saves me breaking the CPU if I tried building myself!

I'm no expert but its pretty similar to The Crusher, basically it will do the job at 1080 medium / low. There are loads of clips on youtube of people running all the AAA games using 1050Ti
DIY using PCpartpicker comes out at £410, this looks like a good deal to me. If it can be done for cheaper I'd love to see some links.
This PC looks to be in my price range. As it doesn't come with an operating system, can someone suggest how best to get windows installed on the cheap? Thanks in adavance

1) will this play PUBG even remotely well? 2) will this be good for things like video editing etc

Yes this will run it fine, on some decent graphics settings. Most other AAA games it will also run at highest or very high settings!

You could buy these components for about £320 on Ebay, for those on a budget, it makes more sense to build it yourself. If you're not a budget, why are you buying a budget PC?

Really? I don't see how.
Processor is around £70, Kaby Lake Capable Motherboard £55+, RAM £60, HDD £35ish, Cheapo PSU £45.
The BitFenix Nova with plexiglass is £30ish.
The Asus 1050Ti STRIX is £175.
I don't see any way to make that add up to £320. It seems like a good deal for a PC with those components, ready built with warranty. And whilst the processor won't set any new records, its very capable for 1080p gaming with Ultra, or perhaps slightly lowered, settings.

I can build a PC in an hour and a half, then there's testing, if temps are high more fans or water cooling is needed prices then rocket. This build should sort all that if its not upto scratch then return, easy if its your own build you would have to start fault checking and that takes time.
I have built PCs for over 15 years but in all honesty unless I want something special or unique sometimes to save £80 if that and a lot of hassle its easier to buy something like this. Ask yourself what you use it for if this is what you need I. E kids having a few goes of Minecraft etc or a video editing, Photoshop, gaming power house etc.

People arn't open-minded enough to think this way, just because they're a techie then everybody must be. Either that, or they like the feeling of tech-superiority and need to occasionally rub peoples noses in it?
This would be infinitely useful for a family of non-techies on a budget. I would kindly recommend whoever considers this to take the upgrade to the i5, it would be a big step up for the extra money. The GPU can be easily replaced at a later date if needed. Heat added.

Plenty of people in my family have built their own house, it's actually an area I know a lot about, much like building your own PC.
It's not always cheaper, especially since land prices are crazy now.
Also not really comparable, since any moron can build a PC (it's easier than Lego), it takes actual skills and training to build your own house. Little bit difference in the budget too.

Im running a G4560 along with 4gb RX480 and its run every game (titanfall 2, battlefield 1 etc) at ultra so far with high fps at 1080p can't recommend the chip highly enough for a budget rig.

Can any of the 'build your own' give me some pointers for a very basic budget rig? Looking to get something for sub £300 for my 8 yr old to play minecraft on but with legs for some better games as he grows up. Used to build my own but not touched a motherboard for 8 yrs plus.

At £300 there is no point in building yourself, looks for a second hand built on ebay would give you much better spec.

Not a bad deal but I built a sfx with an i5 instead and the ti and with a 500gb ssd for under 550 a few months back. Sfx cases and psus also tend to be more expensive.

Looks like a good deal to me. I'm also in the market for a new system. Had been considering this instead. I know it has a re conditioned cpu and mobo but it comes with a warranty too. Not sure what to go for now.

yours has a 1060 graphics card for an extra £80. That's a stronger graphics card that will play everything at 1080p ultra
Your CPU passmark is around 6000 so 20% better than this, so not a massive difference, but the graphics card is

I don't think you could build this computer for less.
I mean it's bare bones right? Super minimum requirements but it should run quite a few new titles without shadows and post processing and obviously on Low-Medium with varied Framerates.
Don't get me wrong, building your own is still the way to go for performance and price but entry level gamers would get on fine with this computer. The 1050Ti is actually quite a decent card.

The G4560 is actually a very competent CPU for the price when it comes to gaming. It has hyperthreading and gives i3s a run for their money, just take a look at benchmarks and you'll find it's pretty capable.

excellent cpu for gaming, it's so popular for budget builds that they actually increase the price off the cpu was damaging i3 sales.
Same as my 4 core 8 thread xeon which is bottlenecked by a rx470. This processor is great. Equivalent to an older i5.
