1GB RAM is a paper weight. Might be useful for a singular purpose, e.g. a spare device, but at 80 - thats about 70 pounds over priced.

Why "yawn"? You need about 512MB of RAM for the OS, and 1/3rd of the remainder for buffer cache. That means 1GB RAM is about 256MB of RAM free for apps - good for a single app. But even pressing "Home" or switching to another app will be slow, as the app has to start from scratch. By comparison, a 2GB RAM device means that poultry 256MB of RAM is really 1.25GB of RAM - ie you get 5x bang for buck; 2GB of RAM is maybe good for 2-3 apps as you hot flip between them.
And for a single app/game, you may be in luck, but as each game/app update makes the thing bigger and more bloated, the 1GB RAM devices will look like a paperweight. For 50 pounds or less, you can look at the Amazon tablets - not great, but good prices. 1GB RAM was "current" about 3-4y ago. 2GB is comfortable. And >=3GB gives some staying power.
Appreciate, for a kids device much of the above wont matter, but you will be surprised how quickly the kids grow and want to run the "next best/big app".

I've used devices at both types of devices at either end of the spectrum, but that claim they're useless just isn't true. If it was that bad they would never sell them or they would be inundated with returns - it is literally scaremongering, just like every Windows 10 Tablet with 1GB of RAM thread. For goodness sake just let people make their own mind up.
2-3GB tablets are substantially more money and many people don't have hundreds to spend on a tablet. I mean obviously paying more money for a tablet gets you a better tablet, but under £100 choice isn't exactly overflowing.

No, I said the specs were wrong, as in, as they were listed. I know full well that Lenovo sell a 1gb version, but the one being discussed *here* is the 2 gig version. As confirmed by me, who owns two, and Argos, who sell them.
At least the Hudl 2 had 2 meg of Ram . . And 16Gb internal memory and 2mb camera won,t cut it nowadays. The expandable SD slot, usb slot and micro usb slot are good points. However £64 is not a bad price to give as a present to an elderly relative or a child whom is not conversant with the web and can learn on.

There are LTE variants of some of these tablets, but unless the description says otherwise, they’re most likely to be WiFi only models.
The M3 doesn’t use the SD 425. Huawei use their own Kirin CPUs in the M3, which sits somewhere between the SD 810 and SD 820 in terms of performance. It might not be the fastest mobile CPU, but it’s no slouch either.

Some OK discounts, but be aware some are last year's tablets (e.g. the T2 Pro 10) and as such, have Android Lollipop on, rather than Nougat or even Marshmallow. Huawei are unfortunately pretty poor with software updates from what I've seen.

I got a Huawei phone 6 months ago after losing my Samsung S5.
Whilst the physical build quality is not as good as the Samsung - more plasticy and less robust, the lack of bloatware in the Huawei is a dream! Don't know about this tablet but given my experience with the phone I'd be happy with a Huawei if you're looking to buy a tablet. They're also cheap!
