I would take their "escalation" with a pinch of salt. I've just spoken to them again and its just more lies.
They still can't confirm they have received it but they can somehow confirm that the Apps & Devices team are dealing with it.

As mentioned I've raised a claim on paypal but contemplating contacting my bank to see if there is any more they can do.
They have had it now 3 weeks today and still I've heard nothing from them.

I'll be damned if I buy anything Nike again :rage:

I'm now past the 3 day escalation and still nothing. I've now raised it as a paypal dispute to see if that holds any weight. Can't believe how much trouble this return is turning into!

EDIT: Spoke to CS again and all they say now is they'll escalate to senior management. again... I've now escalated to paypal for a resolution

Just checked my account and I still haven't received a refund, even though I sent it back nearly 2 weeks ago. Just contacted them and they have escalated it, but couldn't confirm yet whether it had been received.
So, if you have sent it back then make sure that you check your bank account as the little tinkers aren't necessarily refunding the amount!

No! When I bought it it wasn’t clear to me that I would get enough value out of it to keep it. However I keep finding more that it does and features I did not expect I am most definitely keeping mine!

So, who else sent their Apple Watch back after finding it pretty useless?
My wife loves her's, but it didn't do anything more that I really needed than my Pebble Steel.

Yes this is series 2.

Keep checking the site because they go in and out of stock randomly through the day.

That's how I got mine, just checking every so often and eventually it let me put it in my basket.

I know they aren't for everyone, and some people won't get proper use out of them but I'm very happy with mine and use it alot. With my reward gateway work discount and zeek codes for £218 is a steal.

Well the 42mm are currently selling for £330+ on eBay! I agree that, when the Series 3 comes out (probably at vast cost), the prices of all the entry-level Series 2s may fall to about the level of the Nike offer.

Im the same, sent it back and tracked it so know they have it. Chased them up and they said they will do a manual refund but could take 5 working days to show.

The price is dropping on these series 2 and I found this deal is only really £10 cheaper that other retailers. The price will drop again so I decided to keep the series 1 a little longer and wait.

I plan to use the Watch for limited exercise purposes (not daily!) but, after some doubts at first, I am valuing the notifications, watch faces, Apple Pay etc. - so I am going to keep it for, at least, a few months.

If I had decided to get rid of it the "£1 weekend" on eBay last weekend would have, I think, given me a profit!

Excellent service by them.

That was very helpful. I think its quite clever especially apple pay as I gave that a go today and also the activity tracker I would use as trying to walk more so would be good to have an idea of how much walking. I also managed to get some music on it so you can use it individually from the phone.

It basically piggy backs all on your phone. What is strange is that although it does not have What app on the watch you are able to reply to messages when recieved.

I have a breitling so if anything the watch feels super light. I love the Breitling and I can't wear both.

I am glad I have tried it though.

I sent mine back and just made the best job i could of putting it back how it was.

Reasons i sent mine back were that it was firstly uncomfortable on my wrist and also felt a bit heavy; thought this might annoy me when i was out jogging. The other, and main thing, was that i discovered that you can't as yet listen to audiobooks (natively) through the phone; the main readon i wanted the watch.
Have to say though that the technology is really impressive and it is ceertainly a quality item, butt inwould question what use they are if you are not a regular exerciser.

Bought this one :

Apple Watch 2 Case 42mm, Caseology [Vault Series] Rugged Protective Slim Shock Resistant TPU Bumper [Matte Black] for Apple Watch Series 2 - 42mm Only amazon.co.uk/dp/…WY4

And this

Apple Watch Screen Protector, [Full Coverage], JETech SOFTOUGH 3-Pack 42mm TPE Ultra HD Screen Protector Film for Apple Watch 42mm Serial 1 and 2 - 08 amazon.co.uk/dp/…8da

Both are great, screen protectors bit tricky but well worth in the end, bubbles disappear after a day or 2 but it really covers the curved edges and watch case is very decent looking.

The fact that Watch Series 1 is still on sale shows many people prefer price to features they may never use! This offer gets you a Series 2 at the price of a Series 1
murby
19 Aug 17 #646
I bought mine this week knowing that the series 3 was coming out. I'm not really bothered about the new features.

The battery life life so far on mine hints at least two days of usage, so I'm not worried about improvements there. We could even see it go the other way, given Apple's love of super thin devices.

The performance is absolutely fine for what I use it for. I've read anecdotal reports on Reddit that watchOS 4 improves performance.

I don't have any interest in LTE connectivity. My phone is always with me and I'm not interested in paying a monthly charge for data I don't need.

Theres no guarantee that the series 3 will be priced around £400 for the aluminium version. It's possible that there could be an increase across all versions.

Its a personal choice. A series 3 will sell well at any price and many people will love it however much it costs. But to me a smart watch will never be worth much more than the prices in this deal.

If you're undecided then I'd be inclined to wait. Buyers remorse stings.

Thanks OP / mattyt, just purchased. Didn't originally bother when your listing came out, but was (coincidently) in John Lewis the next day and checked them out as I had never seen them in the flesh. I was really impressed with how good they are and came straight home to buy one, but they were out of stock. Noticed mattyt's comment today and rushed to buy one.
As regards flogging them on eBay, it is a bit of a risky venture for such a pricey item, because of chargebacks and potential false claims by the purchaser.

It's a bit of a long story but it seems Nike had sent a parcel for myself and another customer on the same DPD tracking number, both going to his address in Bristol. They then changed this to my address this morning, and before it got delivered to me again today attempted to change it back to his address in Bristol. In the end DPD arrived, gave me two parcels one in my name and one in the other persons name (looking at the Nike label, not the DPD one).

I flagged to Nike from the very beginning the sender reference had a different Nike order number but nobody was interested.

I called them after I got both, they claimed it wasn't an issue and the other person would have had his by now. They said they'd call later to figure out what to do with the parcel. 2 hours later I get a call saying they were wrong (as expected) and the other person had not had his parcel. DPD came to collect it later on and it's now on it's way to Bristol. Logistics disaster

I'm really chuffed with my 38mm grey with black/volt strap.

Used it for my run this morning. I'm doing the couch to 5k program. Turns out this watch may be a blessing in disguise.

There will always be a degree of accuracy with the heart rate monitor, but my rate this morning toward the end of my run was 195. This apparently is quite dangerous, so I'm off to the doctors tomorrow for a check up!

I picked up my 42 space grey / volt today, and I'm happy with it so far. I bough a series 2 shortly after release last year and found it a bit lacking. This is functionally no better, obviously. But I'm much happier with it at this price, even though I was fully aware that the series 3 is probably just around the corner when I placed the order. And in hindsight it was silly to miss out on 8 months of ownership for a saving of £130.

My phone will always be in my pocket, and for anything other than notifications and quick Siri based functions it will always be easier and quicker to take the phone out. But 260-280 is a really good price.

Any cellular functionality on the series 3 will be completely lost on me. And I would be surprised if it comes in at the £400 price point.

I have held out for the refresh on phones, MacBook Pros, and Mac Minis in the past, knowing that the latest and greatest was just around the corner. And that's taught me that however close a refresh is, sometimes the best time to buy an apple product is when you want it.

Then hen they got a manager who agreed as a one off.

Returned the faulty one to niketown to be told it wasn't the colour I ordered! After a search of their site with anoher manager, they wound it reduced and agreed to refund... but then couldn't as I paid by PayPal credit

so after an hour i now have a white faulty watch and a black working one

I ordered a 38mm which was too small, and then ordered a 42mm. In order to send the 38mm back, I phoned up Nike. I found them to be fairly helpful, and they sent me a returns label within about an hour of me first making contact with them.
Certainly not needed to jump through hoops as yet... Although I won't pass judgement until the money is back in my account!

I agree - I've owned some pointless things in my time, but this gadget seems to be a very fancy watch which does little else (bought as a running watch but it showed that I was running in the river on GPS last night...impressive if I could actually do that with the watch but think it may be a little out...)

In fact only shows time when twist my arm too so barely a watch! Good ol' 14 day returns...

Order delayed email from past 2 days, went to online chat and they arranged a callback from manager, manager called and asked if i want to wait for the order , cancel the order for a refund and place a new order for any in stock watches and she can price match, opted for a refund.

I have a clear coat skin on mine that covers the screen and shell of the watch. There are Mobile Outfitter places set up in shopping centres that'll fit. For the whole skin it's £35 and they'll replace it forever if it comes off for £7 a pop (free for the first 14 days) providing you keep the original receipt.

Had mine on since December and a couple of bits came loose so had them replaced with no problems. I go swimming regularly with mine too and it stays on just fine.

Not sure, but I think your quite within your right to ask for a new one rather than a refurb same it's brand new. Sure see what they say, if they say a refurb only then I'd post it back to Nike.

I managed to order a 42MM Black / Volt at around 22:15 last night after about 45 minutes of failed attempts. It was shown in stock on the page itself but when placing the order it would give an error that someone else had it in their basket before I did. I even got as far as submitting my delivery address on one occcasion, but it said I took too long - I had taken about 30 seconds.

The order status shows shows that it is preparing to ship for delivery on Monday, and the money has left my account. Il believe it when it's on my wrist.

I was going to order when this deal was published, but the potential series 3 being around the corner put me off. But the more I read about the 3, the more I wonder if it will stick at £400.

Just managed to buy a Black / Volt 42 version so worth keeping an eye on the site if you still want one. Lots of 'try later' messages when adding to the cart then eventually it went through to the purchase process. But if you are going to wear it on your right wrist, you are supposed to wear it upside down,so that crown and button face your left for easy access

Yeah,my wrist is 17 CM and previously I went back and forth between 38mm /42mm,bought both actually.
38mm definitely the right size for any wrist 17CM or bellow.
42mm looked really oversized and childish.
38mm looked elegant and like a real watch.
It has nothing to do with gender, what matters is wrist size.

I could "just" get it around my wrist, but it's on the very last hole and 1) doesn't feel comfortable and 2) doesn't feel secure.

Nice fella I spoke said there's a huge back order and people will of received emails on a huge delays due to popular demand. Some may be cancelled but he said mine didn't go into that status. He's asked for it to be pushed for dispatch asap and he said he'll compensate me for the delay

Nike refunds are really easy / quick. There's a prepaid returns label in the box & then you just drop it off at the post office. Usually takes a couple of days for them to get it back & then they refund pretty much straight away.

I'll be returning my Nike order once it finally gets here. Picking up my 42mm from JL today so hopefully it's not too big!

Just a note to help others. For now at least the website shows all black faced (edged) 42mm as sold out. However if you select the black and charcoal colour option it does let you purchase (despite incorrect 'sold out' note under colour option)

I ordered mine for my husband on 9th at about 7pm for delivery on or before 11/8. didn't get dispatched so rang them on 10/8 at 11am to see if I could cancel that order and place a new one for next day delivery as we're going on holiday on 12th and it was a surprise for my husband for our 20th anniversary. I was told it was too late to cancel but it would be dispatched that day. Well today arrived and still not dispatched, spoke to live chat again and was told there was a 24hr delay but not to worry it would be dispatched today for delivery tomorrow and I could pick a morning time slot so it would arrive before we leave. Got an email saying we've dispatched your order... it's coming 14th!!! spoke to live chat again, there's nothing they can do coz it's already been dispatched to DPD. GUTTED :disappointed:

Any advice?
Ordered the one remaining colour in stock this afternoon despite it not being the one I'd normally choose. Now I've gone back to look and my first choice has become available at the reduced price. Is there any way I could change it? The FAQ's say you can't cancel or amend if it's over 30 mins since the order was placed. Unfortunately I paid using gift vouchers from Zeek which means I can't just order the colour I want and return the first one....I'll be left with £250 in Nike vouchers won't I?!

I know that but "never knowingly undersold" would mean they don't know about a competitors price. As soon as a customer makes a price match and it is accepted they have been informed and should adjust the price accordingly. But they don't.

No I meant other way around,Nike had it and I ordered it,but John Lewis didn't have stock of black/black band (38mm).
They price matched me the black / yellow band.

So my choice was black/yellow from JL with 2 yr warranty or Black/black from Nike with 1 year warranty.
And I went for the latter.

Yep, after going back and forth (I currently own the 38mm Series 0 watch so have been used to that size) I think the 42mm just looks a bit too stand-out-ish for me anyway. Ali: it seems we are currently facing technical issues in relation to fulfilling this order and our supply chain team and warehouses are working diligently to try and get this order to you as soon as possible and to resolve the issue. Also..
Ali: I will also contact our warehouse team now to inform our staff that you have been in contact and to have your wonderful “Apple Watch Nike+ (42mm) Running Watch" shipped ASAP!

Just this second come off the telephone with Nike customer services, I ordered on 09/08 at 13.52 and my order still showing as processing. 42mm Black.

The lady I spoke with told me that due to the high volume of orders there is a one day delay to shipping, I asked if there was sufficient stocks which I was told yes no problem. She said will call me later to update.

Depends what you expect from it really.
It's supposed to be a watch..imagine a digital watch with more capabilities..
It has some interesting features..like reminding you to stand up and move if you are sitting still for a long time ,or asking you to relax and breath for a minute every day..also very convenient to quickly read text messages / messages from WhatsApp etc without taking your phone out / picking it up everytime some random message arrives.
controlling camera of the iPhone remotely is also a neat feature.

Ah, yeah it's not out yet from the looks! The one I saw was called Spotty (maybe renamed Snowy) and they were demoing it here... which is back from Feb so just assumed it would be out. My bad.

Update: yeah they're the same. Spotify complained to Spotty that the name sounded too alike and the design was very much like Spotify so they had to rename and probably re-design the thing. Probably explains the delay.

‌ :disappointed:

Who knows as Apple will always wait until launch day until announcing. Some speculation about an LTE watch doing the rounds. Perhaps this would see a price hike tho.

The point being is this a good deal today?

Clearly it's cheaper than anywhere else so yes I think it is. It's a tech item so will always massively depreciate. Personally I think this is a good deal!

But then again I paid £400 for mine so I suppose I would say that!

Reply from John Lewis, can't price match as 42mm black/anthracite now OOS at Nike - lol. It was instock when I submitted the request yesterday, seems like they want to get away with it being less profit margin on Apple products.

Thank you for your enquiry.

I have looked into your request and have found that Nike do not currently have stock of the Apple Watch, therefore on this occasion I cannot match the price quoted by Nike.

We carry a wide range of lines, and the competitor has to have the line actually in stock (rather than available only to order) for us to match the price. For products that we deliver, we ask that the competitor is able to deliver in equivalent timescales to us, and on products that require delivery, we'll take delivery charges into account when comparing prices.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Sophie Learmouth

I know this argument is redundant as since when is there a time there's not a new apple product on the way. However, there is a new apple watch being revealed next month, supposedly. If anything do wait that long. Thus far there have been THREE upgrades to the watch and each one has made the previous one pale in shame. The differences might not seem to big but once you pay so much for a bloody watch you want the most out of it. I have the first two. I wore the first one for a grand total of a few days. The second one I haven't even opened. Why did I get them? Well before you ask, tell me first, why are you interested in buying one? lol

Does any strap on the face that would otherwise just go a standard iWatch 2? Just wondering if the Nike face is bigger or something thus requiring a different strap.

**Found the answer** on Apple

"Yes - the Apple Watch Nike+ can also be used with any Apple Watch band (for the same case size, 38mm or 42mm)."

It’s almost certain (if that’s a thing) that Apple will release a new one in Sept/Oct. rumours point to it having Cellular connection to work without your iPhone.

Other rumours suggest a brand new form factor (I.e thinner ... and faster).

For the money these cost (full price) imo these are only worth it if you are really going to use a lot of the functions. I use mine mostly for sport/workouts tracking my calories and distance when running and cycling. Great accuracy. Also for listening to music (saved onto watch) via Bluetooth headphones when running/cycling, tracking friends, reading whatsapp & texts (replying awkward as you have to try and scribble or talk your reply) without having to get my phone out my pocket, bag or locker at the gym, maps when walking et If you only think you'll use it as a basic watch it's not worth it at full price. At this discounted price though it's a steal. Like others I'd advise getting different straps from amazon/eBay if required. Apple charge extortionate prices compared for very little/no difference.
jaypr to glennhoward007
9 Aug 17 #89
Totally agree with this, its basically a fitness tracker first and foremost with a few bells and whistles.

I use mine for tracking swimming, have done about 150 miles so far with mine and it's absolutely fine. Reading messages, paying for things using contactless Apple Pay and the odd notification and that's about it.

My wrist is 17CM.
38 MM definitely looks much better and natural.
42MM is of course better to use because of larger easier to read display, but then it really looked stupid on my wrist.
I'd say for 17MM or smaller wrists,38 MM is the way to go.38MM looks natural like watch whereas 42 MM looks like a geeky toy like device.

well the 42mm does have better battery life but the 38mm is arguably more elegant. If for sport I'd say 42mm better as easier to view and control when active.
