It appears you may have found a glitch. This promo works on almost all Anker speakers and powerbanks, and a whole load of their other products

Thanks - been thinking about one of these. I wonder how much better they are in reality than the excellent standard SoundCore? (amazon.co.uk/gp/…GW/)

The promo button has 20% off a Powercore as the first item. I thought they were Anker's battery range? Doesn't look like an offer on the speaker range.

Some people reporting volume fluctuations with these. Might just be a faulty batch, but look out for it if you get one.
newmann to alex_dis

One of those people was me. Yep some sort of issue with the bluetooth receiver I think. If connected by 3mm jack then it is absolutely fine, However on Bluetooth song intro's with one or two instruments start at 1 volume and then when other instruments/vocals come in the volume reduces and does this throughout the songs. As mentioned I think it may be a faulty batch but something to look out for. On the plus side they gave me a soundcore boost as a replacement and that is outstanding!

The boost versions sound quality is very good but the batterys pretty average. I used to have the original soundcore and that thing lasted 2 weeks for me. The boost lasts about 2 days with volume on 30-40 percent around 5 ish hours per day. However I'd still go with the boost over the soundcore 2 because the audio fluctuation problem on the soundcore 2 is pretty common, and the boost sounds better anyway

if I leave the speaker switched on but nothing playing as it would connected to my chromecast audio, how long would the battery last for until it needed recharging. currently I leave the cca onwith the speakers but even though the speakers aren't in use, the fact that they on drain the battery for my current speakers. looking for something where even if I leave the speaker on, it wont drain the battery and will last for atleast a week.

thanks for the pic. I bought it in the morning regardless. been meaning to buy one for ages and this 20% off was the clincher. will look out for the Bluetooth fault in case, but i'll normally be using the chromecast audio via AUX anyway.
Seems only difference is the IPX5 rating, so if you're not bothered about that, the above is cheaper.
Newbold to murkr
14 Aug 17#41
It's not just the IPX5 - there are other differences according to Anker. Two x 6W speakers instead of 2 x 3W, and a 'better bass'. How much of that is hype is anybody's guess, but the 6W speakers should make a difference.

Believe me guys, if you are umming and arrring about getting the SoundCore boost over the soundcore or soundcore 2 it has so much more of a fuller sound. I had to play stuff to the family to show them. It's like some kind of voodoo magic to get so much deep sound out of something that size! I have a decent surround sound set up in the house (Yamaha amp, Accoustic Energy speakers and REL sub) so it's not like I don't know what decent sound is!
