If this is Qualcomm 3.0 supported it's a pretty good deal to me (although I can't recommend the Vinsic 20,000mah one highly enough at around 25 quid - I have two of those bad boys

The 4.8A comes from a max of 2.4A per USB output and not what any one USB can output if used alone.
Surely this is a better buy at almost identical storage with up to 3.4A per USB output and cheaper.

I have 3 of these. (Wife n kids keep 'borrowing' em) They are great for bringing back to life dead tablets/phones that charge slow or don't take a full charge. A couple of trickle charges from this power bank n they are almost like new again. Cheapest price paid was £17. Top was £25. They are worth top price if u need one.

I can confirm this’ll happily power a Nintendo Switch, IF you use a decent cable. If you’ve got a Pro Controller, The charging cable will work well. I managed a flight from Stansted to Orlando and the battery on the Switch didn’t drop below 100%.

I've got this model, and it's great. Use it quite a bit when we go away, or to the in-laws that have one socket in the bedroom! Looking for the USB-C version of this to upgrade.

Why are you assuming 8 cells? They would only be 2500mAh each which isn't a particularly high capacity. 7 at 2870mAh each or most likely 6 3350mAh cells, like the popular Panasonic NCR18650B, would be more likely.

Of course that doesn't account for the power to run the powerbank and efficiency losses, but most powerbanks lie about their capacity in that way.

The 'most powerful' output is a more dubious claim. Even assuming this supports the latest USB Power Delivery standard then [email protected] is only 12W per port. I'm not sure what the most powerful model is, but I know there are several that can deliver 45W available to buy now and at least one 60W model launching in the next few months. Mostly at early adopter prices though.

It has to be 6 cells. If you look at the dimensions it's only 4mm wider than 3 cells 58mm. Most likely cells are either the Panasonic you suggested or LG INR18650F1L (3350mAh) cells. Which are 45g cells.

I have one of these and it is absolutely brilliant. It's really not portable, just be warned you will need a bag to carry it in but I think I read it can charge an iPhone 7 times over.

I own this product myself, although I do not own any apple products my sister has this also and she confirms that it charges her Iphone 7 if that is any help.

It is reasonably sized for what you get and the yes it is heavy but there are heavier banks with the same battery capacity. Yes it should fit in your handbag, but it depends on how big or small your handbag is :smile:

For me, the discount was applied at the "Payment Method" page, i.e. there was no promotion applied on the basket or delivery address pages.

I would go for the 20100 as it is only £23.19 after discount. The 10,000 powercore is roughly the dimensions of a debit/credit card, but you might as well upgrade and get more battery power especially as it can be used to charge an array of electronic usb powered devices.

I noticed you mentioned you wish to purchase one for the switch, from doing research previously the 10,000 Powercore apparently gives you an estimated of 5 hours extra playtime with intensive games such as zelda before the battery is depleted and starts using the switches inbuilt battery. So we can presume that the 20100 will give you an estimate of near 10 hours extra playtime, but this will depend on factors such as brightness and wifi enabled, e,g. I hope this helps. :smile:

Yes, that's what I was getting at. This is a cheap power bank. It is unlikely to contain premium, branded cells. Whether they are even new or just old, recycled, EV or laptop batteries is something else we will never know :unamused:

Beware that airlines restrict you from taking lithium ion batteries greater than 100Wh. Now technically the nominal voltage of the cells inside the pack are 3.7v, so this pack has 3.7 x 20.1 = 74.37Wh. However an over-enthusiastic screener might claim that because it's a "5 volt" power pack, the capacity is 5 x 20.1 = 100.5Wh. They'd be wrong, and they'd have to be a complete swine to argue over 0.5Wh anyway, but it's always possible. I've not had a problem so far.

Was literally about to ask this! I'm wary of buying portable chargers since my 21,000 MaH had to go in the bin as I couldn't take it in with me to see Radiohead at Old Trafford. Flying to Italy in a few weeks, may just get a 10,000 MaH one to be on the safe side.

Get the ± version or the ravpower for a little more. Charges current gen flagships phones quicker and pretty much all next gen.
And I mean very noticeably quicker... Try this on a nexus 5x and cry at the speed... Try the ravpower or powercore+ and giggles in glee.

Well I would suggest that the Anker uses just 6 high quality 18650. At 3,350mAh per battery it adds up although I'm not sure about weight.

What solar charger are you using to charge this please? :smile: I did see a two panel one in Lidl with 2x 2A 5V (I think) USB outputs but resisted buying it before I'd done some research.

You're right - I hadn't see that (it's in small, feint lettering). Hopefully that will be enough to convince the luggage screeners.

Nice teardown video - shows what a bargain these packs are. The PowerCore+ with USB-C looks nice, but it's twice the price. So if you don't need super fast charge or USB-C, then this is a fantastic deal. Also, of course, the USB-C version needs a USB-C charging lead (which I'd lose in minutes) whereas this one will use any old micro-USB lead.

The RAVPower 16W one that's £34.99 on Amazon. I've wanted one for ages and, having looked at them extensively, it seems they're really hit and miss - some are good quality, some just aren't - so in the end I just went with one that had the most consistently good reviews on Amazon. So far so good - it looks and feels like a well made product, a bit smaller than I expected but then it's meant to be portable (it folds up neatly but it's also designed to hang from a backpack so you can charge stuff while you're walking). It charged my phone pretty quickly the afternoon that I first tried it and then I plugged it into this Anker battery pack, which is now full thanks to the better weather we've had the last couple of days.
So far I can't fault it, but then it's the only one I've ever had so I don't know if there's better out there - I did once get a battery pack with solar panel built in, which was absolute rubbish, so buying them separately really seems the way to go, especially as that way you've got a much larger area of solar panels and can keep the battery pack somewhere out of the sun. I'm going camping at the weekend and the plan is to have the solar panel on the tent so it can charge the battery pack during the day so we can charge our phones at night. I'm thinking about attaching it to the car roof to do some charging on the way there, and I'm also wondering if it's worth getting a second battery pack and if it would be able to charge both at the same rate at the same time. I'll put it through its paces at the weekend and see how it goes!

personally i haven't had any experience with that version of powerbank and if i am honest the quick charge is not a charging feature used in the switch and is only used in a handful of devices so it's not worth the extra money. The next powerbank up that would be worth it is the powercore + which features power delivery and a usb type c port, but is alot more so just go with the 20100 :smile:
