- 1 Echo for 69.99
- 2 Echo Dots for £59.98
- 1 Echo and 1 Dot for £94.98
- Amazon Fire TV for £49.99

I had a conversation with Very on their own Twitter account. Here is what they said:

Google Home is the same price here via Very (same code).

And frankly poos all over the Echo unless you're already deeply tied into the Amazon infrastructure.

This is just a code for very, for new customers, nothing to do with the echo. Why not open multiple lists and anything for £60 is £30 off? You could do most of the web site!

I've set up the credit account and have the £30 voucher in promo code which has worked but can't find pay in full?

I have signed up and added the code but don't seem to have the option to pay in full. Voucher says added to account. If I pay through account can I then just use the voucher to pay off some of the balance?

I have a couple of dots but I'm tempted by the larger echo as it has a better speaker.
Does the Google home allow free calls yet in the UK as it does in the USA/Canada?

What makes it better

In my experience everything (have both an Echo and a Home).

Smarter voice assistant for a start. Ties with my existing Google accounts. Can link Home speakers together which you can't with the Echos.

Echo is obviously better for Amazon things.

Echo speaker is tinny and horrible IMO.

The Echo isn't exactly bass heavy but I wouldn't describe it as tinny.

It's comparable to a pretty cheap bluetooth speaker IMO.

Perhaps tinny is a bit harsh but it certainly won't impress most people.

The Home isn't exactly a powerhouse either, but it's more balanced and I like that I can have more than 1.Multiroom (or just in room stereo) audio is a breeze.

Echo can't do that yet for some odd reason.

Haha, seriously I'm not exactly tied in to the whole Amazon thing.
I just use the dots for turning on/off lights TV etc.
So really there wouldn't be an issue have both systems in my home would there?

I've got both Dots and Homes and it's fine. Tune In Radio and Spotify both work for the Google Homes. Google Play radio stations are free as well.

Biggest advantage of the Home is the multiroom audio tbh. That and it's not fugly like the Echos.

Multi-room (multi-Echo) music arrived on Echo today. Check Settings in the Amazon app, scroll down to "Multi-Room Music".

Very are a joke of a company. I set up an account at xmas time last year, was given a £25 off code for being a 'new customer' placed my order, order gets cancelled within an hour, now my code can't be redeemed as 'I've placed an order'same applies with this code. So much for wanting my custom

Nothing, Very sends to it's customers vouchers by post once in a while. My wife used to get them a lot. Now it's me ;). She told me that she noticed they send her vouchers when she lives some items in her basket and leaves them there for a week or so. Not sure if this will work for everyone though...

Are you f*ink kidding me?! I've got both and the home is basically a paperweight. Echo blows it out the water. Almost an offence to consider the home in the same league as the Echo (70% market share to home 23%). No one is developing for the home and that's the make-or-break for all home hub devices

I have a dot and home. Home is better for setup and great if you have Chromecast. It also has better search. You can use your existing music collection just upload uptown 50k of songs. Dot integrates with Amazon music so limited if you have prime, need to pay extra for prime unlimited or you can upload 2k of your own. Both integrate with Spotify, home also does deezer. Dot only integrates with firestick so no Netflix, Plex or now TV. Dots obviously need to be paired as the speaker is crap. Echo and home can be used as a speaker but for audiophiles might be better with a dot and Bluetooth speaker.

The code worked fine but on my pending debit card transactions it's debited the full amount. Is this usual?

The Dot is only really useful for controlling other stuff. This speaker is pretty decent for a smallish room

This really is an amazing deal. I purchased the Echo and the Echo Dot which have a bundle discount applied automatically for £20. Then I used the voucher which took a further £30 off bringing both for £98.97 delivered. The £30 was applied against the credit balance due and now I can pay the total balance.

For those wanting to know how to pay for their purchase with Very, go to the Very website and log into your account. You then have the option to make payments, or pay in full, once the item you've purchased, shows up on the account.

I've had the Google Home runnig for a month or so now, but am rather disappointed with the Echo. My grandson likes to hear the sounds asked for, eg: animal noises, or tractor sounds. The Echo doesn't play them, the Home you just ask "what does an elephant sound like", for example. While the Echo may be more advanced on operating things in the home, Google Home isn't far behind, I use TP Link and Home works well with it.It seems though, that Home seems to be much more user friendly for information.

On top of the basic useage for Echo/Dot and Google Home, Google made a bit of an error with its dedicated power supply. Amazons offerings use a micro usb input for power. I have USB points on my wall sockets, saves taking up a socket, also if you have power packs for charging phones etc, makes the Echo/Dot portable.
