Needed a basic 3G phone with bluetooth for my dad to use and connect to his car. This is the cheapest I could find without needing a top up, and works perfect for using on Threes 3-2-1 package. The battery seems to be long lasting too..

Just select any of the sim card option, and go to the checkout - I selected the classic tariff, it doesn't add it on at the basket. Paid 9.99 in total

It's a good price considering 3g facility. Heat added.

I got a 20.45X for a family member which is just one model up from this.
Compared to the Nokia N80 I had 11 years ago, which was a top of the line phone when it came out in 2006 it is give or take the same sort of spec.
Both 3G, the Alcatel has a bigger screen with more colours at a similar resolution, slightly worse camera, much faster chipset though and a better battery. It's also far lighter. You can get these Alcatels for the cost of a topup, a tenner. The N80 was like a £300 phone

Bought 3 to use abroad when they were about £2.80 each. Battery lasts for ages but phone is not particularly easy to use. All consigned to the drawer of no return.

Use your tongue instead of your fingers on the keypad
It says you can use the internet with this. I wonder how good/bad it is.

It depends what you are used to, if you have a smart phone - you will then find this annoying to use for surfing the web!

I bought them from O2. They had this Alcatel for £2.87 (it may have been £0.87)) and the same phone for £9.99. Made no sense so I bought the cheapest. If you buy one you will realise why they are so cheap. Handy to have in the glove compartment for emergencies or for making calls abroad if you dont fancy having your iphone7 pinched whilst on holiday. No I didnt use the internet with this. Sending a text was difficult enough.

This glove box nonsense , I bet there's barely a person on the planet whose ever had to use one for the last 5 years. Great deal for a 3G phone , the majority of cheapies are still unbelievably 2g only.

Not nonsense. Youve obviously never used this phone and yes I have one in my glovebox for emergencies only. Its got a good battery life and you can make calls easily but everything else about the phone is crap. So emergency use only for the three I bought Do you work for O2? PS... I bought 2 to be used by friends abroad but they were given back . What they said about the phone is unprintable. Unkind I thought as I had lugged the phones 6000 miles to give to them. Nough said.

If you put for collect from store, don't let you take the item without top-up there ?

Best just to get it delivered them, next day free delivery is included and no top up is required. I cannot be sure that the store would try and force you to take the top up

No the store will not force you to take the top-up if it's a click and collect. If you buy it instore then they have to sell it with a sim card with top-up
