Halfords Advanced LED Rechargeable Torch Light up the night with the CREE LED technology bright beam in the Halfords Advanced LED Rechargeable Torch which can be focused and used in high, low or flashing mode.
Both seemed OK last night and switched on OK. Nice and bright. Used them for a few seconds, switched off, on again - nothing.

Same thing, don't think it's the switch, maybe led connections. I (think) I bypassed the switch. Can't get to led. Going back!

Mine has been okay so far, but above comments are a little worrying.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone else finding these to be unreliable. Bought two, but both of them have now packed up. Batteries fine, but just not switching on. Probably a switch problem (it usually is on cheapies) but odd that both of them should have packed up.
Have to go back, but you'd expect better than this (and the problem afroylnt mentioned above) from a torch originally selling at £40!

Comes in a fancy box. Very bright. Feels well made. Instructions say when batteries fully charged lights on the charger should switch from red to green. The lights on my charger go blue instead. Tested torch last night after first charge. It ran three and a half hours on full brightness before it dimmed. For the price I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you ssc1.

Batteries did charge ok in my XTAR charger so will see it how it goes.

Just got a replacment unit and yes I to have a XTAR charge so currently using that. I told them the charger is borderline dangerous and they need to feed that back; not convinced that they will though.... batteries charging at different voltages so looks like they are v cheap as well. I am now thinking that this could be a poor buy.

That's concerning. I used a rather better (and slower) XTAR charger without incident, but you'd expect Halfords to have checked out the included charger properly. If they haven't done that, then they probably haven't checked the batteries either, and these batteries are potentially dangerous.
Are you going to have them check it all out?

!Warning!: Just picked mine up and put the batteries on to
charge. After around a few minutes heard a slight bang and there was a smell of
burning coming from the charger.
Disconnected & reconnected the charger but it wouldn’t work.
Wil return for another unit as I have another charger already that will do
18650s. Overall it's still good value with the batteries but the charger I think is very low
quality and borderline dangerous; do not leave unattended would be my advice, but ideally use a different charger.

Got one today thanks. Good value for a tenner. Heavier type of torch because of the 2x 18650 cells.

Can anyone say what brand 18650's are supplied? tks

Just unbranded 1800mAh I'm afraid - but at least with a Halfords name on the box you'd imagine they won't explode!

Probably ok for £10, shame you have to take the batteries out to recharge

This is why I didn't buy one.

I saw this as a plus, could buy a 2nd set and keep running for longer if needed

Clearly not worth its original price, but a bargain at £10 - particularly with a couple of 18650 Li-ions thrown in. Thanks ssc1!

I would love a very bright torch...and at £10.00 i spose this isnt a bad deal at all. Does it drain the batteries quickly?

Thanks ordered, guessing that with two 18650's it would be proper bright!
Includes the charger as well, something I didn't get with my cheapo Gearbest Cree special! Voted hot.
