How do the Intel HD Graphics 500 compare to HD 4000?

Just looking for some clarification.
On the merchants page it says External HDD capacity up to 2tb, but on the graphics it only mentions that HDD capacity expansion up to 2tb.
I'm assuming this was just a typo, but can anyone confirm that there is no real limit to the amount/capacity of external HDDs connected through the USB ports?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you are asking because you have mentioned that both the ad and graphic mention the same thing, so wondered if you meant something else.
The hard disk expansion limit will refer to the maximum size that can be used in the docking bay expansion.
USB hard drive limitations will be dictated to by whatever capacity Windows can accept, which will be 2Tb for an MBR formatted drive and more for GPT.

nice pc, will even do slight gaming.
bit pricey though, the 11.6 acer laptop that i posted the other week, is an almost identical spec , but with the slower 2 core cpu for £115

Yes, in the looks department only at this price, sadly.

Very tempted. I'm struggling to justify a £120 expense just to build my own cloud though...
Voted hot nonetheless
EDIT: Bought it. I am weak.

Does this do HDR? I want to use it for game streaming from my Gaming PC to the living room. I can see it does 4k 60 Hertz but nothing regarding HDR.
Nice. Someone to follow as I am interested in getting one!

It all depends on what you want one for, because each may have it's advantages for the price.
Of the Atom/Celeron models though, as the moment I like the Vorke V1 Plus the best and this should theoretically be on par with the features, although the Vorke does have 64Gb of base storage, but a little more expensive.

Me to I sent them up for HTPC mainly and sell them on to family when I get bored. I take it this has a fan don't see fanless anywhere.

Tip: Check the shipping options. The default free shipping is shown, which will get the stuff to you before xmas ;). But there are other free options available that are faster. And full expedited delivery has some cheap routes, too.

Which one is leased likely to arouse the interest of customs
and excise?

18 Aug 17#18
In my experience expedited is the most likely to incur a customs charge, which by itself I would not mind paying too much but the courier also charges an 'administration charge' which is an outrageous amount - I'm looking at you DHL! No doubt they have to charge so much as it involves hand-filling a form, taking it to a far away customs and excise office and having to queue there for ages.

The handling charges were silly the last time I ordered from somewhere that didn't sort it out at their end; I think the duty came to about a pound but I got very little change out of a tenner once the admin fee was added. This is why Massdrop sales don't appeal to me much: once you've factored in the delivery, any customs fees and the handling fee, it's usually cheaper to buy something similar from the UK.

Bu**er is this specific to the shipping option chosen? As I’ve

Looking at the specs it does have a 3.5mm audio jack for microphone.

You would have to ask the manufacturer that one to be sure.
They do have a comments section on their site, so worth asking there.

you can see down the page on the 5th large picture there is a headphone socket on the right hand side of the unit, this is the standard speaker out on PCs. still not sure this is good value tho given the risks of customs and the warrenty status.

I'm probably just being stupid, but where does it say that it comes with the expansion module?
Thanks. Looks like a decent but of kit. I can't find any power consumption figures. The CPU is listed at 10W TDP, but I wonder what the whole unit uses, with an SSD in it. Would be nice to replace my always-on RPI3 with something like this.

It's probably a 12v/3a ac adapter supplied, which is par for the course with these boxes.
Actual power usage is always a lot less but depends on the application being used at any one time.

Looks like a good spec for the price, especially with the SSD expansion module.
