its a new deal, that one was MSE and this is through uswitch, plusnet changes their deals all of the time, even this site had its own exclusive deal recently.

Been with Plusnet about six months now for bb, also have two sims, bbis adequate at 38 meg to alloww three kids to wireless play Roblox and stream on a Kodi at the same time with minimal buffering, (£14.00 a month upfront line rental, only because you have to pay it, landline is not even plugged in nowadays fed up of telemarkers, £7.01 a month for the bb). Also have two sims, was on £7.50 a month for two gb etc, upgraded to £8.00 a month for 3.5 last month, great service, on the moors, great customer service.

18 Aug 17#52
They might?.
But by the time that may/may not come around again or whatever, you'd have more then payed over the odds for the GiffGaff equivalent perhaps ...
So, personally speaking (unless your prepared to wait wait longgggg that is?), I'd get this one in the meantime?.
And the cheaper £4 one you speak of, can/will hopefully in turn take care of itself too, in due course ... :-)

Ive been on Plusnet for about 8 months now and although its great value for money, the service is alittle dire. I came from EE and althought Plusnet is using EE's network, my calls are constantly dropped , it seems the service is constantly switching from 3G to 4G etc and everytme it does if your connected on a call it just drops. My partner also got the Plusnet sim and she is having exaclty the same issue.

We got a new SIM last week and are still trying to sort out connectivity problems. Phone number was carried over from previous SIM, but not when they said it would be (they said either Friday or Monday, but it appeared on Saturday). Whatever i do i can't get my wife's phone to connect to the data network. We have coverage as i'm on Virgin which is the same network, but multiple restarts, changes to APN settings, turning airplane mode on and off make no difference so she needs to ring customer services for a replacement SIM.
bigjeremy to heroni
15 Aug 17#21
I had same problem after porting, you need to ring them as sounds like they haven't enabled data access on your sim.

15 Aug 17#36
exact same problem with my partner's sim. they said they would send a replacement sim and 2 arrived.. both of these sims had the same problem.
each call to CS ends up with the same useless info about manual APN settings etc.. she has now moved to three and has her data connection back

Do these guys have a wifi calling app or any such like option for people with bad home signal?
so tempting but i do notice that on the plusnet i already have for my brother and dad, the calls don't always connect and they can cut off if the user doesn't answer in time.

Not hugely different to their website, I see 5gb for £10pm? plus.net/mob…ly/ Only difference is its not unlimited minutes it's 1500. Still a good deal from plusnet and I've had no problems with them since joining a few months ago - bit slow porting but probably down to volume of sales.

I would say for you it will be rubbish if TPO was rubbish as it uses same signal (EE)....best to try a EE payg sim. If O2 is best signal then good luck as they don't have much MVNO...Tesco mobile is your best bet.

What can I say about Plusnet Customer Service - nothing good I'm afraid. Their mobile phone CS based in Liverpool makes TalkTalk seem like the bees knees. If you can get through without spending half of your life on the phone then you'll be greeted with incompetent staff with a plus factor of them being arrogant and confrontational. As for their Broadband - there is a 45 mins wait if you want to talk to someone in Support and the Online Chat is a waste of time. You will find on their website a reference to being able to make an online report of your problem but don't bother to look for it because the facility doesn't exist! Good luck getting this deal without any problems - after (currently) 10 days of constant telephone calls to them they still haven't got things sorted out for me, but on the plus side my calls to them have been free!!!!!

I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make. Are you saying that according to Trustpilot both 02 and EE have poor reviews? If so does that make Plusnet's poor Customer Service acceptable? We all know that, generally, our telecom providers have poor Customer Services due to the recruitment and/or training of their staff and, one presumes, the salary they are paid and I feel that it's about time that the regulator stepped in and did something about it. Whilst it is good that prices are reducing one must query whether we should have to suffer poor Customer Services to pay for it!

Awful company, they lie, the call centre staff are some of the worst I have dealt with. They continue to remove cash from my bank account two months after leaving them, they promise to refund and then they do not.
I regret the day I ever heard of them and I would urge people to think before using them, if you've never had an issue then you're lucky, if you do you will regret it.
you cannot forward calls to another number, you cannot send STOP messages to text short codes so you get spam and cannot stop it. EE spam you from the first day you join Plusnet too.
I moved to three, three are terrible too but not as bad as Plusnet.

Just a warning to anyone signing up to this lot.
I have had nothing but hassle since signing up a few months ago. Constant admin errors, and any fix can only be applied after the next billing cycle. Four months later every month the changes still aren't correctly applied and I have to faff about with their CS trying to get what I'm owed, having to wait another month to see if it even takes effect (which it doesn't) This month I am not getting what I'm owed, but I have had £1 knocked off the bill 'as a gesture of goodwill' and they're 'sorry I can't see how much they have done' for me :rage: Hope you all have better luck.

Having all some real problems with Plusnet. Been with them just over a week and ported two sims from Virgin. 4G signal with Virgin was really strong in our area but really poor with Plusnet despite them both using EE network. The biggest problem is that we are not getting calls. When you call either of the sims you get silence for around 5 to 10 secs and then goes to voicemail even though you can make calls out with no problems. Plusnet have not been able to fix this. Looked on the Plusnet community forums and they are full of people with the same problem. Got my pac codes and moving back to Virgin.
