Guess I should have listened to the top comment about poor service. 1. They lost the first sim in the post 2. Replacement sim wasn't sent 3. Next replacement sim arrived but couldn't be activated as systems offline. Told to call back next day. 4. Following day system still offline. 5. Asked to speak to manager as 12 days after placing order I have been charged but cannot use sim. They put the phone down!
Look elsewhere guys, these monkeys will waste your time!

I saw this before and its a pretty sweet deal if you aren't a speed freak. I hear that VM are restricted to 25mbs download speed. I haven't the foggiest if this is actually true and nor if upload speeds are reduced compared to EE either. To be fair, it's not a deal breaker if that is the case. More of a deal breaker for me is potentially affected services in congested areas. EE will have priority if masts are under heavy load. This will be a frequent occurrence over in London and other major cities.
I had a deal with EE for £18.90 a month for 20GB 4G data and that was pretty decent. Obviously not 90p cheaper like this deal though.

I live in London and in the congested/populated area you are describing.
To get to the point I get around 40mbps data speed. I always make and receive calls where ever and when ever living around those so called congested/populated area.
I have been with VM for nearly a year.
Good things is I'm on 30 days plan rather than 12 months.

I wanted to do the £12 deal for 8GB/month. It mentioned 2GB (the old deal). Has anyone gone ahead with these deals?

I always think it's odd they offer unlimited/ lots of data but pretty much all networks charge to send a mms picture message (unless you use an app like WhatsApp). Surely datas data?

Word of caution, their data roaming is a shambles and doesn't work in a lots of Europe. Also their customer service is the Philippines is disgusting. They are treading a thin line at the moment. In this instance you pay for what you get. My experience if them is pure cr** and soon leaving I'd rather pay more money and have a proper mobile company whom supply roaming and a quality customer support service .

I've been with Three since day one, purely for their unintended data, but I'm sick of them now and want to try someone else. Do VM offer discounts for home BB customers?

Good luck with that nice idea mate. You think it is easy to get off a 3 contract? You've got a fight on your hands. Worst network ever. My phone never worked at home. I was in contract for 2 years begging them to do something about this problem and they kept on telling me to pull out the sim and clean it etc. I had to leave home to speak to them as there was no signal in my area but they wouldn't accept it. I had to go out in the street to send a text message, the signal was so bad. Still they tried to "retain" me at the end of 2 years. Same thing they did with my wife. I had to pay them for rest of the contract to get rid of a non-working phone situation. WOrst company ever. Anyone but 3 would be fine. T Mobile are rubbish as well but nothing comes close to 3 for being rubbish. Avoid 3 like plague.
This is a good deal. One of my boys is with VM. No problems so far but we'll be asking for a different contract soon as he has a smart phone now and needs some data. Will have to speak to them considering people here have same contract for less and we've been with VM for years.

I know what you mean, I actually hate dealing with them. I'm returning to the UK tomorrow so will try them at the weekend.
Partly because I hate calling them, thankfully, my contracts were up in May this year, so they have no hold over me at all.... LOL

Can't see why this is a good deal with three are offering 30gb data simo plan at £16??
If you are on ee sim only... And due a renewal next month... Call and they will beat this price. Need to specifically mention this deal. Gl.

Guess it depends who you get. At first they wouldn't give me a good deal. Then I mentioned virgin and they beat it. Said they just needed to hear me say the deal I'm moving to. Shame you didn't get it. 0robably get a call soon lol.

I've been looking at sim only deals for the past few months with great interest as I want to change mine & have a new mobile. I need a change from my LG G4. I've been with Tesco Mobile (runs on O2) since 2012 & I'm in the process of switching to Plusnet (formerly LIFE runs on EE). Never had any issues with them just going for a cheaper sim only deal but better overall package. The deal is exclusively on Uswitch (or so it claims on their website). It's a 30 day rolling sim with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts & 5GB data for £10 a month. The choice of 30 day rolling sim options is quite limited compared to 12 month sim only deals but I thought it was good enough for me. The Tesco rep sounded reluctant to give me my pac but after trying to "match" the deal after speaking with his manager (also known as putting you on hold for a moment then coming back with a counter offer) he did so.
I have a good reception in my local area with O2, EE & Vodafone but not so much with 3. I've read some of the Plusnet Mobile reviews on Trustpilot which is somewhat unsettling & doesn't make for happy reading but I'll give them a chance first.

Why does one of largest Broadband provider need to piggyback on EE. Why can't they create their own mobile network.
CampGareth to Mandroid578
25 Aug 17#41
In short it's way more expensive than you think. Virgin Media have a revenue of £4 billion or so, EE's 4G spectrum chunk cost them £600 million back in 2013. That's not even the equipment, that's just the rights to broadcast on those frequencies. It also costs them £75 million a year to maintain those rights. The next auction is coming up in October this year so since 2013 there has been no opportunity for new mobile networks to spring up unless they've been piggybacking.

Same here. Sole reason I didn't take up their offers despite being a broadband customer. Either Virgin Media just don't listen or EE insist on this. Seems weird that a company tries to stipulate how we use our data when it's not even a "unlimited" tariff. 20GB is 20GB surely.

Just updated mine from £10 for 5GB to this £18 for 20GB.
12 months starts again mind.
My contract refreshes 1st every month, I'm currently down to 350mb for remaining 7 days. Without me even asking the guy said he would top me up by 1GB to cover me until refresh date.
Don't get the poor customer service thing (Although, probably in their interest as I have just increased my monthly bill)
You cannot just rely on reviews you need to test and trial
I have 2 plusnet sims for frirnds and have no issues even when I ported in numbers and I use virgin
