I've just ordered this Wagyu Steak box from Campbells Prime Meat. WAS supposed to be £123 ( hmmm, not sure... ) now on offer at £75, the code WAGYU35 knocks off £26.25 making it £48.75.
Delivery is £4.99 but add 1lb of premium pork sausages to take you over the £50 free delivery threshold, makes a total of £51.02 delivered.
Works out at about £8 per 227g steak.
I've had a quick look and a 227g Wagyu sirloin is £19.99 at Ocado so it looks decent value.
The pack is described as follows:
Certified Wagyu beef is perhaps the most expensive beef in the world. The cattle are fed specially developed grain mix for around 400 days to ensure that their tender meat is packed with flavour.
The Meat Box contains:
Wagyu Beef Sirloin Steak - 2 x 227g each
Wagyu Beef Rump Steak - 2 x 227g each
Wagyu Beef Ribeye Steak - 2 x 227g each
+ Free Cooking Guide Leaflet
The individual prices on the site are:
Wagyu Rump (227g) - £12.83 each Wagyu Sirloin (227g) - £23.15 each Wagyu Rib Eye (227g) - £25.88 each
which makes this seems like a steal.
One of the distinct features of Wagyu beef is its marbling. The Wagyu beef’s extensive marbling effect is created by ribbons of fat that run through the meat. It’s this high fat content which makes Wagyu Steak so succulent and tender.
When you order steaks from Campbells, our butchers hand cut steaks from fresh beef for your order and our meat deliveries are made in chilled boxes - so you can freeze at home.

I tried the same trick again and it worked. However the WAGYU35 code seems to have expired for me.

Meh, the code expired on Sept 30. Why not drop them a quick email and ask is there any chance of reinstating the code as you can't afford it otherwise? if you don't ask...

Ok here's a little bonus that worked for me.
I placed another meat box order in my basket BUT DID NOT ORDER IT. The same deal £75 then the code added some sausages to take it over £50 for free delivery. Eventually I got a last chance email offering me 10% discount as well as free delivery. The 10% discount stacks and is actually 10% of £75
I removed the sausages and got the meat box delivered for £41.25.

If you're interested, I would advise monitoring their website. The discount code WAGYU35 as mentioned by OP brings the price down.
I just got text message from DPD saying delivery will be 12.52 today. DPD service for free delivery is a good service.

Good price for Wagyu, but I'm still far too stingy to spend almost £50 on 6 steaks!
I remember when Fish Fingers were enough for you, Deek. Fame has changed you. :disappointed:
Heat added btw.

Thanks for this, worth a punt.
We will find out soon enough if it's the real deal. I suspect it's going to be a similar scenario to Manuka honey, more 'certified' sales than production. This is what it should look like.
My latest medication means I'm not supposed to be eating undercooked meat but I'm going to try this as a guide.

No, everyone says to let it rest for a few minutes after removing from the pan but it does say 'But don't cook Wagyu like a regular steak'.
Thanks for the cooking guides. I do wish guides would take into account the thickness of a steak though. '2 minutes each side' for a medium steak must give different results on a half inch thick steak than they would on a 1 inch thick steak. Where are the graduated cooking guides which tell you 'For medium rare on a half inch steak, 2 mins a side, for a 1 inch steak, 2.5 mins a side' etc?

£17/lb? You must have more money than sense. Get yourselves a can of spaghetti. Never ceases to amaze me how so many people can be conned so easily.

I think I will pass and put the savings into my fund that one day might pay out enough for me to go to Japan and try the real thing.

No oil or butter, just salt. Although serving immediately doesn't seem right to me
