only one per customer bought one from amazon a month ago and kids broke it, is it a good idea to order another one or do amazon get antsy about that sort of thing.

I think you should be okay if it actually lets you complete the order. I've only ever come across one item on Amazon which was limited (to three per customer) and it physically wouldn't let me order more. I rang customer service and there was no work around they could do, but they recommended trying to order more after 24 hours.
