Seems a bit weird, still £34.99 on their site. Cheapest I can see by a good £10.
Carve a path of destruction through the battlefield fighting for guts, glory, and survival in For Honor, a new melee action game developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios. Enter the chaos of a raging war as a Knight, Viking, or Samurai, three of the greatest warrior legacies. For Honor is a fast-paced and immersive experience, mixing skill with visceral, never-before-seen melee combat. The Art of Battle, the game’s innovative control system, puts you in total control of your heroes, each with distinct skills and weapons, as you annihilate all soldiers, archers, and opposing heroes who stand in your way on an intense, believable battleground.

So is this game any good and worth picking up now? I've read the disconnections are awful.

I can't tell too much about the gameplay. The beta lasted 2 hours from which the first half an hour was the tutorial  but I enjoyed it.

HOT deal.
Buy from Argos....down with the monster named Amazon. Once they have eaten all of the competition they will charge whatever they like and we will have no choice left.

Yep, all games should be bought and judged based on graphics alone.

Absolutely awful game mainly due to the lack of dedicated servers.
You'll have laggy mclagface chopping your balls off in no time and wonder why you bothered trusting Ubisoft again.

Good price, bad game.
Buggy, spawn camping and most fights result in you and your opponent having a race to see who can push the other one off the cliff first. Servers were P2P which seemed to be even more of a nightmare than usual with regular quitting...
It's a shame. Really wanted to like this game but I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole
Took a year for BattleBorn and two years for Evolve, but it's hard to not see For Honor take the same route. I'm not sure what player numbers are like now, but a few weeks after launch they were abysmally low for a multiplayer game, and finding matches in alot of the modes took a fair while. With the recent price drops the player base might get a quick, temporary boost, but unless those people stick around it will fall off again. Honestly think F2P would be their best option.
(And I hate F2P and not too keen on For Honor having played a fair bit of it, but from a business standpoint F2P seems the best way for them to make money out of it)

As if Ubisoft have a history of going F2P? GWG at some stage maybe.

Im not sure either went fully f2p though?
Evolve went to games with gold... but a good couple of years after release no?
Battleborn went down to a fiver in shops... quick...
are both f2p now?
With plus and GWG and EA vault... more and more companies are getting multiplayer heavy games to the masses quicker... for the reasons you state... but I don't see a real hunger to give AAA and full price games away for free.

Cheers for link..
that actually looks ok to me, just watched the solo play video... just a no brain hack and slash.. I could get into that... looks like a 3d Golden Axe...
Also I am VERY protective of my potatoes!
Bit like COD people say that its all about multiplayer and I just can never get into them but usually enjoy single player... at £40 maybe not but for £15... I think I could do a few hours of hacking or indeed slashing...

Well, about 90% of MMO's eventually go F2P, but if we're talking comparable games, off the top of my head Evolve and Battleborn, both of which were primarily multi-player focussed, and had their player bases rapidly implode. These games rely on having a good stock of players, with a small percentage willing to spend money on microtransactions. If they don't have many players, they're not making money, and actually losing money keeping servers running / patches being developed.

I can remember news of evolve and battleborn....though not sure if either actually did?

Not voted either way, but given it's a predominantly multiplayer game, and how the population fell off a cliff very quickly, I foresee it going F2P by the end of the year. Still, even if it does, I'd imagine they'd reward owners of the game and early adopters, so it wouldn't be a total waste if someone was interested in playing it at some point.

I see comments like this on many games, but how many full price games in history have actually then been made F2P?
I am just interested as people seem to think its very much a regular thing and I wasn't aware it was??
which games have been released full price and then been released f2p?

Very rare for a game like this to have a good single player mode to be honest, they made it for the multiplayer.
Also try the demo if there is one as it's a very marmite game (I wasnt a fan even though purchased chivalry and mordhau day one).
reserved one anyway... ill cancel if I decide I don't want.
