Activision and its developers have been inching towards science fiction with the Call of Duty franchise for years now, but with Infinite Warfare they've finally taken the plunge.
In the campaign mode you play as Captain Reyes, a Tier 1 Special Operations pilot at the helm of the Retribution, one of Earth's last remaining warships, in a conflict not just for our planet, but for the whole solar system. See, in Infinite Warfare's future the Earth's resources are spent and our world relies on colonies spread across the solar system to provide it with resources. Not all the colonies are happy with this set-up, though, and the fascist SetDef, hardened by years in extreme environments, seeks to control these outposts and put a stranglehold on the countries of Earth. It's into this conflict that you step.
As is befitting this interplanetary set-up, the action takes place across a wide array of environments that bring their own twists on gameplay. In particular, Infinity Ward has included zero-g combat, in which players can move around using a grappling hook and attempt to outflank their enemies. One example is a rapidly-spinning, airless asteroid that's repeatedly baked in searing sunlight. It doesn't get much more tense than that...
Another big addition is the Jackal, a futuristic fighter jet that players can take control of.
This backdrop will bring brand new challenges to the game's multiplayer, with maps that are designed to leverage tweaks to Call of Duty's movement system for faster, more frenetic play than ever.
All this sci-fi action means we get an interesting twist on zombies mode. Zombies in Spaceland takes players back in time to a 1980s amusement park with its After Life Arcade, Fate & Fortune Cards and brand new team mechanics.
The Legacy Edition comes with a huge extra treat, too. Modern Warfare Remastered is packed in there, bringing the Call of Duty classic to current generation consoles with a graphical overhaul, iconic campaign and 10 fan favourite multiplayer maps!

Well I got IW on Prime Day for £3 (£8 less £5 voucher for slow delivery), will just either look to return or sell it to claw a little back.

Music Magpie don't tend to have many copies, so they go quickly. Keep checking back there and here as it's bound to come back in stock

The standalone is already out, and the price is a joke in comparison to what you can get the legacy edition for. You're definitely going the right route to get MWR.

Yeah I just did some reading and worked this out, looks like it applies to the maps. Cheers for heads up!
Watching some sold on eBay with a view to saving a few quid against buying the MWR standalone when it comes out.

If the MWR is tied to the XB1 disc, how come when I've seen the legacy for sale in CeX it says 'no DLC', suggesting MWR isn't included?

MWR isn't DLC. The disk has two games on it.
I've got this and never played Infinite Warfare. Only installed and played MWR

Modern Warfare remastered 77.45gb
Infinite warfare 62.83gb
Ps4 figures, don't think Xbox will differ too much, if not the same.

Do you have to install infinite warfare to play mw? If so anyone know the total storage for both?

Nothing has changed with the separate release of MW apparently.

They're separate discs / installs so don't have to have both installed. Both quite massive from what I remember. Think you will need 80+ Gb for both off the top of my head...

Don't need both. Yeah a lot of GB... Can't remember exactly.

A few years ago the Xbox got exclusive access to COD a month before ps4 so its probably payback. Still don't know why the Xbox mw is on the disk but ps4 one is a code.

77GB download for MWR so be prepared for a long wait until you can play it.

Yeah, sorry guys I'm a PS guy so was not aware of the xbox situation. Seems bizarre having two different methods.

No worries, happens quite a lot, seems silly having a DL code with single use for one and a disc triggered DL for another.

It's the same for Saints Row 4 and the extra game Gat our of Hell for some reason.
