Do you have to wear them like a nonce or can you wear them without turnups and a top tucked in?

Get with the program man. The fashion now is to wear jeans and trousers that reveal the ankle and look like they are hand me downs from your older brother no socks, daps and to finish off the look a tatto sleeve or neck tatt.
Wrangler make excellent jeans IMO and actually run true to sizes advertised. Never paid more than £25 on Amazon and they last, thanks OP

Elastane—are these stretch denim? I prefer plain denim personally.

I bought my first 2 pairs of Wranglers last year when they were on a Black Friday Amazon special. Very comfortable, and I'm generally very happen with them. However, the badge on the ass end is not so good.in the wash and dryer. It warps like crazy and now they've both kinda split. Not a big deal but I tend not to dry clothes on an airer but with these you definitely should. Dryers will ruin the badge.

You put jeans in a dryer? Wonder why there might be a problem....
Had my Wranglers for about 4 years and no issues whatsoever. As I said above I have never paid more than £25 a pair always from Amazon. Own at least 6 pairs.
As to these being in any way waterproof or water resistant - they aren't - simple as!

The last pair of Wranglers (Texas Stretch) I bought lasted just over a year of average before the crotch went beyond repair. I read after that the factory has changed location and quality is compromised. Not sure if gospel but I wont risk again. Shame if true as they used to make a solid pair of jeans.

I think they are more a quality pair of Wrangler jeans in real sizes at a really good price. I am a 33 inch waist & I find Wranglers are true to the British body size. Wrangler also do jeans in sizes that suit people who's waists & legs may not be the average size.

I had a fat face pair that failed at the crotch after a month. I used them for diy and gardening until the crotch hole became too large
