FYI I ordered some tempered glass protectors from ebay, they are useless, stand proud of the edge of the screen and will just be a dust magnet. Having done some further digging, found similar issues reported for similar items listed on amazon. The Swift 2 X screen must have a very slight curvature towards the edges which the tempered glass just won't follow. I have removed it, and of course having now also removed the factory protector, need to order a new set! May give those 'Savvies' ones a go that were linked to previously.

Can anyone recommend some good but cheap usb c charging cables or adaptors for this?

Thanks Chris - Yes I'm considering the screen replacement option as would be good to know its there in the (likely) event that I drop it. Would really appreciate it if you let me know if they respond to you about it

Extended warranty - no as in the FAQ at https://www.wileyfox.com/faqs it says it has 2 years and I doubt I'd still be using it after 2 years.
However I can't find the terms and conditions. The only extra info I could find was in the FAQ:
I've emailed Wileyfox support for more info on it. Will be a good test of how good they are at responding as some people have commented their support is poor.

Yes, I removed the top layer after almost removing the whole thing! Seems like it will do a job until I get some tempered glass or something. Not sure how much more screen protection those eBay ones would give?...
Think I'll get one of the clear cases you mentioned, let us know if the quality is any good  I'd go for the official if it wasn't so boring looking too  surprised they haven't made a 'foxy' orange version.
Are you going for any of the extra warranty or screen repair gubbins on their site? Not sure if it would be worth it seeing as some folk report easily shattered screens?...
Cheers

Update
The film that comes with it actually IS a 2 layer screen protector. Peeling off the top layer reveals the second that is not stuck to the screen more held on by static. So use that til the ones I mentioned earlier would be my advice.
Re the case, I ordered the cheap clear silicone one (which came back into stock today) from eBay today.
Its a shame the official one is so expensive just for a boring black one. The orange one I got with the. Swift 2 was nice.

Hey, Let me Know if you find anything decent as it seems to be slim pickings on cases.
All I found were the cheap silicon ones like this on eBay or the leather wallet type ones which look Bulky as all heck.
The official one seems ok but £15 is a bit steep for a bit of plastic confused
Is anyone just leaving the 'screen protector' that it came with on, or will it need extra protection? I see wileyfox again make an ' official' one that is again £15 quid.. so although the phone itself is cheap all the accessories start to add up pretty quick!

Shame, one of the best things with Swift 1 was not having to fit one myself. I always end up with it wonky or with air bubbles.

It comes with a peel off protection sticker but it can't really be described as a screen protector. I ordered these . I've used these guys in the past and have just ordered a set of these. They even re-make things if they are not quite up the right size eg when a new phone comes out. - and send you the new set for nothing. Excellent German service !
Any ideas on where to get a hard case or soft case (not TPU) apart from the boring old black design from WIleyfox ?

Yep - they should be (robust) and no it wasn't in the Amazon email, my point is that Wileyfox shouldn't be quibling this, they should have jumped on this and fixed it, interestingly I did find the IMEI number today (on a registered device screen) but Amazon replaced it brilliantly (my device is a Swift). At the moment I am using an iPhone which I massively dislike as its only a 16gb, but I had it spare
Apparently this charging issue seems to be quite popular (looking on Twitter) which is a shame as otherwise its a great value device ...
Oh almost none of the Wileyfox phones have removable batteries, if you take a look at the page on the link you will see. Frustrating as I love a spare battery as well.

So is this the storm?. (thread is about swift and spark)
You never did mention what phone you had, nor if the battery was non removable. From what I see most of their phones have a removable battery and a sticker under the battery (or sometimes on it) that has the IMEI info. I have never met a GSM phone without some info on the device somewhere.
Check your sales receipt (purchased from amazon probably?) to see if it has the IMEI number printed on it. It is a digital world we live in now, that info should be there somewhere to find. I have never purchased a phone or electronics from Amazon (other than kindle) so not sure if they record the serial numbers. I do know that other places used to put the IMEI directly on the receipt.
USB ports are fairly robust too, but I find a lot of people bend the pins inside quite often, not saying it is a simple bent pin but a toothpick or needle to straight out the pin could fix the problem if that is it.

10 Jul 17#35
You could always find your IMEI by opening your dialer and typing *#06# oh wait.... i did read the thread..... but you didn't say you had phone with an internal battery ... x yhz123456 was only trying to help. (nerd)

The volume limit is a software limitation, easily removed with custom firmware or via rooting. There's certainly no reason why phone manufacturers cannot disable this for UK phones.

I have the 2 Plus which is great but, after the Amazon return time expired, I found a fault where audio playback of recorded videos was very poor. Upon emailing the Wileyfox support twice I received no response, not via their FB page. In short, it's a great phone as long as it all works so test thoroughly while you can still return hassle free to Amazon (2 weeks I believe). I had to return the first one due to a screen fault but that was no problem with Amazon. Beyond that though you are unlikely to have any luck with Wileyfox should a fault develop, so the gamble is yours.
In hindsight I would probably go for the similarly spec'ed Vodafone V8 as the warranty would actually be worth something.
migavupe
9 Jul 172#24
Phone manufacturers aren't going to make a uk spec, you will get the same version as the rest of Europe which will still include the volume limit.

The spark x has terrible reception.
I could hardly ever get a 4G signal and I live in a major city with very good 4G coverage, no problem with the phone before it (lumia 640xl) or the phone after it (idol 4) it went back after a week or so.

To get the imei number I'd need to switch it on, to switch it on it'd need to be charged... course, it's also on the box, not sure where that is, and amazon sorted it properly. But in short don't buy a wileyfox

8 Jul 171#7
I have the 2x and I'm very pleased with it. Only negative from me is the headphone output level is a little low, I want my music LOUD! Also no usb OTG support so external headphone amplifier is not an option. Other than that I'm very pleased with it.
Laura.Palmer to bigvince76
8 Jul 17#14
Is an external OTG amplifier a thing ? I decided I didn't need otg on the swift 2 plus i bought as it had 32gb and I added a 128 microsd which works despite not being in the spec. Why do you need an external amplifier ? surely you can bluetooth it to something ??? Maybe I'm missing a trick...

I've got to swift 2 plus and it's a really good phone. Running pretty much stock android. Comes with NFC and a compass which a few of the competitors don't include.
The Swift 2x gives a small size increase and a 1080p screen. Might upgrade on Monday, would prefer a slightly bigger screen.
