I love my ultra 6,had it for 15 months and it's never let me down, recently bought an s7 edge for a bargain price to replace it,had it for 2 weeks and still haven't switched,i actually prefer my ultra 6! i'm as shocked as anybody, i'm not a big fan of nougat, hugely prefer lollypop, now for the biggest shock of all to me,i like the su6's camera more, the edge's pictures look too processed, far more natural on the su6,i can't believe how long i wanted the s7 edge for, glad i didn't pay silly money.

I've had one of these for about 6 months now after cracking the screen on my Sony M4. A recent firmware has made it really stable and great on battery life. Theres a bit of rom work going on at XDA (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/smart-ultra-7) although I've simply rooted mine and installed TWRP to pull off some of the vodafone bloat. For £99 I have no complaints

Inferior phone to the ultra 6 which was £99 including top up almost 2 years ago.

Not really. Speaking as a someone who bought the SU6 two years ago.
But I will say it's a fairly minor upgrade at best. A real shame they haven't added a fingerprint scanner - the only significant feature the SU6 lacked.

I just picked one up from Argos, I had a SU6 until last year but had dust appear under the screen, as it was no longer available they gave me a credit and I got a Moto G4, nice phone but I as many others suffered the ghost touch issue that has got so bad lately i'm having to power cycle 5-6 times a day, lucklily Amazon have said I can send it back with a few months to go on the guarantee. As a previous poster mentioned dealing with Argos/Amazon is sooo much easier if you get a fault. Hop[efully the SU7 will be OK!

The SU6 had a bit faster GPU, but the SU7 has a lot faster CPU. So this is no gains for games, and a doubt if the better Helio 10 battery life shows up for game addicts.

I think when the SU7 was launched, the big purported differentiator was that the SU7 used Android 6 while the SU6 was 'stuck' on Android 5. However since the SU6 got it's upgrade, there's really not a lot to choose between the two.

I've had my SU6 for the last couple of years and a couple of months back, I bought the SU7 for the wife for £99 from Argos. Both are okay phones but for me, the SU7 edges it.
First, sound-wise, the SU7 is louder; noticeably so. Second, we did a little side-by-side comparison of video performance. We both watched the same tennis match on iPlayer. The SU7 was noticeably sharper (particularly detailing of the net). The SU7 is also far less slippery to hold. In terms of general browsing and camera performance, both are on a par.
I guess I could have got a cheaper/better phone for the wife directly from China but for me, there's something reassuring about buying it from a local shop that you can take it back to if it goes wrong within a year.

Might be a bargain for some - screen is good and build is decent, especially at £99. The CPU is a dud, though - it's slow for even basic usage (app switching, graphics rendering) and the whole thing, while great on paper, feels choppy and underpowered. And, yes, I had one - unlocked it, played with it, sold it. Something like the last-gen Moto G4 is light years ahead and the Smart Ultra 6 is also a better overall budget device. The likes of Xiaomi and Motorola (and Honor, if you can tolerate EMUI), for a little bit more cash, seem to have this end of the market nailed right now.

Here's a link to some brand new smart ultra 6s if anyone's interested there's is only 4 available though
This one of the few that has nfc.
Am going to check if it has gyro and compass and 2sim plus microsd slot and if xda says anything on this.

It's bootloader locked. Checked XDA and root exploits have since been patched out. The development scene is pretty bare for this device.

Forget what I said about the 425 being an improved 615. It is reported to be made on the very same energy inefficient process as the 615. I guess they got a cut price deal to keep using the oldest TSMC 28nm fab.
The Mediatek P10 uses HPC+ , whilst still 28nm, certainly betters Qualcomms offering.
It is why Vodaphone claims 2 day battery, 4 of the 8 cores running slower adding to the energy saving.
I think the Qualcomm 425 is an improved 615, which was built on an energy sapping 28nm process.
The 625 is good and one of their first really worth having.
Shockingly, the famous Brighthouse sells this on the never never at £416!!!

It's not a bad device, but you won't be able to uninstall or even disable some of Vodafone's applications. Some of which may or may not covertly use your data.
The hardware itself is fairly capable, but you'll not be able to update this past Marshmallow. but hey, it's £100.
