The rail provider's hugely popular Big Seat Sale is to return on Thursday 6 July and will see prices across first and standard class seats slashed across its West Coast route.
The reduced tickets apply to a number of popular journeys, including London to Birmingham for £5 one-way, London to Coventry from £4 one-way, London to Manchester or vice versa for £11 one-way and London to Glasgow from £18 each-way.
But bookers should note that railcards cannot be used on top of the sale prices.
If you're holding out for a ticket, seats will go on sale at midnight on Thursday 6 July and will end on 11 July. All tickets are valid for travel between Friday 21 July and Friday 8 December - this means you can use the tickets throughout the summer.

The oddity is I have a season ticket for Virgin, if I buy one of these or a daily ticket I can easily book a seat or it's automatic - for my season ticket I can ask at station and they will book me a seat or there was some on-line stuff. Virgin trains get bust in short fast commutes e.g. Birmingham - International - Coventry - after that you can have a carriage each!

Did anyone catch last week's news about the guy who flew from Newcastle to London via Spain because it was cheaper than eating the train!! Good old train companies, ripping people off since (insert year)...

Is it a seat sale or just a space on the train.
Those poor people that have train season tickets at x amount of pounds and can't even sit down. Disgusting!

Yes, I have booked two sets of tickets. Then went to look for something else, and the web site had changed and no sale prices were presented. I think maybe it was a glitch? But my tickets and paid for with reserved seats and confirmation emails.
