Was looking for a cheap raspberry Pi remote and found this great deal and decided to share, this is the cheapest I have found.

I had one of these.
If the remote is within about 18" of the receiver then it works a treat.
Any further and you will be pressing and pressing and .....

these are ok for rpi+libreelec but mine started playing up eventually. better off getting one of the "RII" keyboard+touchpad types with the rechargeable li-ion batteries, although twice the price.....
I notice these have a little blue "mouse" button on them - how does that work? Can you actually control the mouse pointer using one of these? If so, can anyone explain how that works? Thanks!

Heat for the deal - thanks for sharing. Personally I wouldn't bother with IR now (thats so 80s!) especially when you can get wireless (RF or Bluetooth) for not much more...
I use one of these.. with my harmony remote control. Works really well, though the receiver is a bit unidirectional in its pickup.

its a joystick basically, bit like one of those nipples you get on a laptop, works like a mouse (bit slow though) with your thumb.

YES it does control pointer not as good as a mouse I have one of these and have the remote about 4ft from where I sit and it works fine, the remote plugged into a USB extension cable, damm sight better than having to get up every time I want to pause media or alter volume.

Bought one of these from Amazon to control Kodi on Rasberry Pi. Has the build quality of something you'd find in a Xmas cracker.

If you want to control Kodi or other programs in the pi i use an app called "yatse" its on Google play. Very handy and has a massive amount of functions.

yatse is totally dead these days, "kore" is the official kodi remote app
