These jackets have become fashionable because scroates discovered that Police tasers can't penetrate the fabric and stick in the skin. The new hoodies! If you see someone wearing one in the warm weather you know to avoid them!
There's a link to liveleak where a US suspect was tasered and it didn't work because of the thick clothing.

I have one of these, good quality and very warm. Two small negative points, 1, not water proof , 2, the pockets are very small and really in the wrong place being too far down but for the price fantastic value.
