Got the last two from Canterbury - was that price on the shelf-edge ticket, so should be national. The box looks exactly the same as the AV600, so worth looking through them all (I bought two packs and found one with the AV600's).
*I've just noticed that one of the kits I bought is actually the 600MB AV600 and has the same barcode (69353640993044) - even bigger bargain and they had loads left in Canterbury!

For £2.50 I suppose I could put up with having to switch them off and on multiple times a day to make them work. I'd never go back to using TP Link. I had Devolo before them and Netgear after them, never had a problem except with TP Link cheap crap.

price will still vary per store. People often don't know each store has the ability to update the shelf price to scan at whatever the manage decides overiding the national set price on the database for that one store. It's very easy to do through SMART and often happens.

If you want that your better off having a dedicated wireless router connected to the powerline rather than one that has wifi built in as i have often found the wifi powerline models are unreliable and need to be rebooted frequently especially the tp-link ones.

This is not national. Just been in Bournemouth ASDA and both AV500 and AV600 scanned at their shelf prices £29.99 and £39.00 respectively.

Looks like it's a different product, OP's barcode on the receipt is:
693536409304
It's also listed as a different item, so not sure if that's the actual one or not.

The TP-Link can fail but 99% of the time it is a blown capacitor which is a cheap and easy fix

You don't understand. Its fine to move the cabled internet to other rooms but most people want wifi also. Personally i watch my tablet in a bedroom so need good wifi, understand?

What on earth are you talking about, these act as though you physically connected a network cable between your modem and the device
Nothing to do with wifi

Wow... mine have always worked well, May be have to reset them 2 or 3 times a year, but I think that's because I have so many devices swapping in and out all the time

It's not the wrong pricing.
ASDA have gone through a range change of all their electrical and TV accessories. This power line is now a deleted line and has been reduced company wide like most of the ex-lines to clear the stock

Not at my store.
Those AV500 should have a flash to make them the AV600 now.
The TP-Link software works nicely even with my much older AV600 checking all the links and lights etc. You can just find the newer PowerLINE and grab the software from them ;-)

Yes should have said it extends the internet via wiring! Not wifi.
tomba
16 Jul 17#17
I'm sorry...is it just me...what do these things actually do? Are they wifi extenders? Sorry!
Tank to tomba
16 Jul 171#18
Correct. They go from your point of internet to anywhere else in the house through the electrical wiring.

These specific ones don't extend Wifi, they allow you to extend your wired network via power sockets instead of running Ethernet cable. Similar models do also extend your Wifi range.

Been using several of the AV200 version of these for the past 3-4yrs or so (passthrough + smaller ones). They're still working though do disconnect/reconnect from time to time, at least once or twice a day (they're powered down overnight). And must admit I never had this problem with some old Comtrend (BT) 902's through the same wiring..

Been using these for 4 years and paid £60ish back then, the best plugs bar none, always go for tp link.

D-Link adapters nearly always beat TP-Link for throughput and reliability. I've had 6 TP-Link adapters and all bar 2 failed just outside of their warranty period. I replaced them with D-Link adapters and have never had an issue.

It may be wider but still down to individual stores and not rolled out across all stores, I did scan this and the keyboards at the tills and they were all still full price.

Seeing as that is Bridgend and this is Canterbury, it would appear to be a bit wider than store specific. It may be worth scanning one at the tills as the AV600 were all still priced up at £39.99.

I've just noticed that one of the sets is the AV600 and it has the same barcode, so that should also be £2.25!!!
