The Toshiba skeleton will be rolling in his grave.

Toshiba have been a budget brand for years. Their LCD TV's have all been pretty useless. They were very good back in the day of fat CRT TVs!

Not true the last great Toshiba TV's were the 1080p X and Z series LCD's thats the last time Toshiba was the Toshiba of old and not budget TV's with the name on the front.

At the moment? Nothing. It's the worst time of year to be buying a TV. Wait until late November & December if you can.

Has been for years along with Sharp, JVC, Hitachi and other ex brands. LG, Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are the only big brands left though even Panasonic cheaped out for a while (Vestel made TVs for them though have stopped as they were suffering brand damage). Hisense are apparently well worth a look.
Not saying the cheaper sets are bad though failure rates are high.

In TVs yeah, it's a licenced name rather than a Toshiba Product so it comes off the same production line as Celcius, Polaroid, Hitatchi etc. branded products. The electronics company behind them, Vestel, have said they want to make Toshiba their premium brand but whether anything will come of that remains to be seen.
Philips too. They're no longer owned by Philips but they are unique TVs, not rebrands.

This was £330 in April, I know the time machine stuff will follow, but good for people to know Imo.

A fairly expensive budget brand TV, why is it worth this much?

What would you recommend in a similar price range?
