Massively tempted by this after waiting ages for ED PS4. Does it add to the game and are they easy to use? Seems my trusty ZipStick doesn't work on my PS4.

Sounds easy enough!
If you don't mind, can I ask...being older, I like manuals to read through, are the EXO Guide/Elite Dangerous Players Guide XBox 2.3 things, any good for a 'PS4 how to play manual'? Obviously buttons and stuff will differ...Thanks.
A thrustmaster, sounds like something from Ann summers

This thing has gotten really expensive! I bought one just after Battlefield 3 came out. It was £35, or £30 if you found it cheap. This one looks identical to the one I had, but blue instead of red. And a "4" slapped on to make you think it's a newer version.
It is a good stick though, deadzone a little too large for my liking, but overall really decent for £30, and possibly even £55.

used an older ps3 hotas with elite dangerous on pc and i must say that a) it has every button you need to control it, albeit menus and internal look take some getting used to and b) it makes the game so much more immersive
then again i spent a week with ED being amazingly impressed then suddenly realised combat is a dog and it's 90% fetch quest, overshooting waypoints and "fast" travelling between fetch quests . good stick at least.

1. You don't have to do fetch quests 2. Overshooting waypoints is down to engine missuse 3. What is the "fast" travelling your referring to - Supercruise? or Hyperspace?

So, is this pretty much the same as the PC/PS3 version, but £20 more for no apparent reason?

Pretty much, slightly updated internal workings, new colour & only option for PS4.
I have the original PC/PS3 model. Great bit of kit.

Updated internal components from what I've read.
Plus it's the only option that works on ps4

The sticks are detachable ( both connected by a small cable ) so you could swap them around but not have them connected as one unit.

If you want a good HOTAS Thrustmaster do much better products, the new t16000m is probably the best performance/cost compromise there is right now in flight controls.

Hotas 4 is for the PS4 and pc . The t16000 only works on pc

When PS4 gets a flying game i'll get this, nothing since PS3's Hawx 1 + 2 ( ace combat doesn't count ). Until then it's a PC only gadget!

Do you know know a good flying game on pc?
Not a simulation though. Something fun without a steep learning curve.
