No its only for pay as you go which appears to be cheaper than pay monthly for some reason.

I had a great experience with their customer service on Twitter, and then when they had to take action on my account I got a secure chat link and they handled it quickly. I didn't need to explain because they had access to the Twitter messages and I got a credit refund I was after in a few mins.

Their Tesco Mobile website always has a live chat option that are pretty good for most things.. Never had an issue, I'm on the £7.50 pay monthly deal but use their Xtra app to knock off another £3. Been a happy bunny with them for a few years now.

bascially they said they they cant do anythign close to the £5 for me for 1gb of data and any other company that is wouldnt be making any money. I said that it isnt any other company its your company which are doing this deal and then she said PAYG are a different department so i dont know what they are offering as deals. I've got the pac codes i have three tesco sims to port over plsu another daughter, i dont understand tesco customers services logic, there all kids under 18 so im probably going to stay with them until they get their own contracts so they could have four sims with them for the next 6 years but now i've gone, well i'm going to search around see what else is out there been meaning to look anyway so this has prompted me to do something about. if i get a 1gb data thats the priority and would be good to be able to use that in europe. im with bt and i know they offer a family sim

If it helps Plusnet are doing an offer with 1Gb roaming data, 250mins and 500 texts for £5.00 on a recurring 30 day contract. Offer runs out at midnight tonight. They are a MVNO and use EE infrastructure. I have been with them for a few months and have my daughter and wife with them as well, all been okay for us so far, but YMMV, depending on where you are, EE coverage etc.
Just been told this is for payg customers only am not happy. The tweet is going to get serious

Well, if you only need 1GB data then I'd go for a 12 month 12GB mobile broadband from three. Costs £25, so ~£2/month and also works abroad. Use a voip app and you can call for ~1-2p/min to landlines across the world (and free between the same app). It's only expensive to call mobiles and text.
This solution works fine for me as I never call anyone. I might look for something cheaper next year, though.
sounds decent to me, my youngest daughter is on a plusnet deal so makes sense to put them altogether and we are heading out to tenerife so can use the data out there which will be good

It is a good price but with a contract there is always the risk of getting billed for more charges. I did notice that Tesco monthly offer a free service to put a cap (min £1) on your monthly account to keep those to a minimum but personally I feel much safer with PAYG and a zero or small balance.
EE doesn't have coverage the places I go unfortunately.

It's a 30 day contract, so no big deal really, it's not 12 or 18 months .... and you can set a £2.00 cap, so no unexpected large bills. The default / standard cap is £10.00, so again, even if you leave it at default, your still not going to run up £100,s or £1,000's. As for EE coverage, I find it very good where I am, but that's always something you should ideally check out before taking on any mobile phone contract, or deal.

Bear in mind the £5 price is for 3 months only and doubles to £ 10 after that

The rocket deal at tesco mobile is £5 for 3 months then £10 thereafter. And you have to top phone up enough to pay for it every month if you want to keep it.
