There is various Splatoon 2 offers out there I just wanted to put them all in one as it is released in a few days. This excludes the Very and the Prime Now deals that people post.
Thought this was going to be for one hell of an expensive guide book!

The Wii U is no longer supported, no more consoles are being produced and I don't think there are even any games in development for it. That is why Splatoon 2 isn't being released for the Wii U. If you want to play a Splatoon game on Wii U, it has to be the first one. It's still a really good game, although the community will dwindle quickly now Splatoon 2 is here.
If you're using Zelda as a frame of reference for Wii U / Switch releases, it was an exception. The reason for this is because it was developed for the Wii U and was meant to be released a couple of years ago but it was delayed several times which, along with the short Wii U console life because of it's lack of success, pushed completion close to the release window of the Switch. If it had not been originally designed for and showcased as a Wii U release I doubt Nintendo would have released a Wii U version.

Received the console I ordered today and the copy of Splatoon 2 is a digital download code on a scratch and reveal card as opposed to the stated pre installed version

Thanks mate. I did same for arms and mario kart 8 but both were priced at £43 and that code reduced to £33. Amazon still have splatoon at £50! Still cheaper with the code but was hoping they would price match base by now lol.

For anyone looking for a console too Very have the Splatoon 2 bundle (digital download copy) available to order for delivery on release day Friday 21st July at £319.99 - that makes the game £40 when you take into account the console RRP of £279.99

I nearly purchased this but I realised that the game is "pre-installed" on the system. Shame, would have purchased if it was a digital code

I stand corrected then, guess I was majorly ripped off by Shopto back then. I wish I used this site to it's fullest back then.

Splatoon wasn't £25 at launch on Wii U, I remember perfectly trying to shop around for the best price and the cheapest I found was £34.99 from Shopto and I only got that price because I was a gold member. I still have the online receipt in my game case.

There was sub £25 deals at launch, you can still find some of them on here, i.e.
Even the Special Edition with an Amiibo was cheaper than Splatoon 2, and could be got for £35.

Wii U version (physical) was routinely £25 at launch. I'd pay that again for this, but not £40 - as great a game as it is, still got too many other games competing for my attention, and as this is primarily online competition, I feel if you're going in for this, you gotta go all in.

This is how console generations work. Nintendo doesn't want to waste resources on 2 consoles, especially one considered a failure. They released a new console and all their effort has moved there.
The WiiU has been dead to Nintendo for a while now. Zelda was in a Twilight Princess situation so is an exception

Nintendo's game plan is to kill of the Wii U and make you buy a switch.

I don't understand why they didn't release this for the Wii U, Has Nintendo killed off the Wii U.
I don't want to buy the switch just for this, I don't understand Nintendo's Game Plan.

Any idea how much it will be on the e shop, and what the cheapest way to get credit is?
I thought of going Game via Quidco for extra reward points, but not sure how quickly they will have the digital up. I go on holiday Friday afternoon so want it downloaded

Use a locationless card like Revolut and buy from South African eshop (without buying eshop credit, just a straight purchase).
Arms cost me about £41 with this method.

Mine's on pre-order from Very where I used a £20 account specific code to bring the price down to £25, they send them in the post a few times a year.
Only problem is i've got to go pick it up from a cornershop.
