Just came by this looking to upgrade my mobile contract. Not to sure on the quality or review of the phone, but spec looks reasonable and I've never bought into bigger brands. But with the PS4 & Uncharted 4 game it only works out an extra £2 pm over the non PS4 option, so a decent deal I think for the price difference.

Not to sure which version of the PS4 it is either as the website or fine print doesn't seem to say. My order suggests I won't get it till the 12th, so a slight delay. But if ordered before the 31st July the deal should still qualify for the extra date offer to despite that the new tariff won't start until next month as ordered whilst the data offer was on. Also available in white.

I'm happy to report the phone is great! Camera is much better than my Moto G3, its much quicker and has much more space. I've filled it with apps and am at about 45% storage free. The screen looks clear and crisp, no complaints from me in that sense. The ONLY niggle so far is the battery, which will last a day with fairly moderate usage and downloading, which for me is enough, but for some it may not be. So all in all, im chuffed with this deal! Thanks for sharing OP and hope u get yours sorted!

Very disappointed in virgin, after waiting till the refresh date (22nd August) before they could resolve my incorrect tariff and price that they said they would have to to be able to sort and correct it to the offer as it was at the point of sale. They then said its been referred to there IT department to correct and I'd hear back within 5 days.

I hear back yesterday in which they pretty much say: "our IT department is unfortunately unable to add this offer on after the point of sale; this means that we are unable to add your original offer onto the account" . This is totally unacceptable as clearly they recognise and know what the offer and price was and what I signed up for at the point of sale. And as the error was made by virgin AFTER the point of sale where by which someone from virgin changed the account to both a price and tariff that simply never existed contradicts the reason they have given to not correct their error and apply the original offer (that was for a lifetime 4x data offer) I signed up for.

The only resolve they have made to date is to provide the data from the original offer is to upgrade my tariff based on current prices, but credit my account in the short term to offset the difference between the offer price in signed for and current price, but what in the long term (after 9 months) should cost me £4 per month to get the same date content than the price I signed for!!!.

Anyone know where I go from here now?.

This is getting crazy from virgin now!. So I've phoned twice to be given slightly differing things, from I never signed the £21 4gb data deal, I signed the £19 1gb data deal because the account says so!. This is despite the £21 deal by default only offering 4gb data at the time and no £19 priced deal existing at all!. Then after telling them I have screen caps to prove this and asking them how can they not know their own offers or able to check them?, I was told they will raise a ticket with there supervisor because the person I spoke to either can't or doesn't know how to correct the account despite seemingly accepting my claims. Then told to call back next refresh month as they cant do anything with the account until then!.

I raise the issue on there Facebook page to be told to go onto web chat as they will sort it. Go on web chat tonight to be told web chat doesn't have any mobile phone account access to look at or deal with the problem. Then post on Facebook again to say web chat claim they can't deal with it to be told post back on Facebook tomorrow morning as they will send a precise web chat link where they can deal with it tomorrow (but not there and then?). Only telling them I cant do morning as I'm working so can only do it lunch hour to be told they are unsure that an hour would be long enough to deal with the issue as as ideally I need to be calling 789 as they are best placed to deal with these things, yet made 2 such calls already of cause. But said they will try anyway!.

Fast losing patience with them now, getting passed back and to, having to take time out to try and resolve this issue that should be simple to sort!. So does anyone know of a UK based number or department like a CEO number for people who can deal with this to sort it as I'm wasting far more time than anyone should have to and nobody on the standard number has any clue on how to sort it!.

Hi, I spoke to an advisor as the PS4 did not appear on the order on the day that I made the order. I was told by a Virgin employee that it would not appear but not to worry as it is part of the deal. Without sounding like a "know it all" I know how to navigate around a website. I have followed the link for the deal and selected a contract that is not the lowest costing and is not solus. This is definitely misleading on the Virgin website and don't understand why I have to send my mobile back so that they can send me the same phone and the PS4. Surely they can send the PS4?

I got the phone & PS4 on the day stated. Upon checking my contract details it states I'm paying £4 a month for tariff and £15 a month for the devices - so £3 cheaper than what the original deal was (£6 + £15=£21) 1gb (with 4x life data).
Happy with that.

Have you got any record of the deal including ps4? It has shown in My Orders since day one
. I don't want to sound harsh but it's possible that somehow you and a few others ended up selecting the solus deal. I mean why wait until it's delivered to check the ps4 was on the account? I think it's not Virgins fault this time

14 Aug 17 #87
Great deal for the phone which has been delivered but no PS4. I spoke to Virgin today and despite following the link correctly they claim that they have no evidence of a PS4 being part of my deal. They are now saying they will send a jiffy bag to send my mobile back so that they can send out a new mobile and PS4. Its an absolute joke, customer service was poor and the site and deal are misleading. This has also happened to my partner whom I recommended the deal to. Vey unhappy with Virgin and I believe many people do exactly what we have done and will end up without the PS4. We have both left good O2 contracts for this to happen Waiting on a call back from USA.

You would think so, but its never easy dealing with people who either like to play dumb to save taking responsibility for mess up's, very poorly trained, fob you off (call again next refresh month), don't know how to verify their own offers from the time of signing or much at all.

Would love to see an add or promotion offer as being £19 per month last month verified when I signed. And get an explanation on where this price and content came from when they realise the price they say I signed for just doesn't exist!.

Well my deal works out better for me. £15 per month for the phone and £1 air time. My data is showing as 1.2gb which is 4 times the 300mb I signed up for. So as long as my cashback pays out it will be costing me £14 a month including the ps4.
dave99461
12 Aug 17 #81
Yes, the online account also only indicates 1gb data as well with no mention of the extra 3gb. Plus the price is also wrong, £4 instead of the £6 when I signed. The agreement I have confirms the device as £15 per month and the screen caps prove I signed the £21 per month offer which makes the content tariff £6 which by the date I signed up & the screen caps prove I chose the £21 per month offer with 4gb data and that what virgin are saying is a £4 content tariff is wrong.
snipercat
12 Aug 17 #80
They may be quoting the deal available at the time of the original deal date and days after. I would imagine what is currently stated on the website, is what is on offer as they have clearly updated the promotion on their system/website.
snipercat
12 Aug 17 #79
Login in to your virgin mobile account online (create an account if not already done so). The invoice I received with the order did indeed just state 1GB and no mention of 4x data promotion to 4GB. However this is clearly active on my online account as "3GB extra web promotion". I called customer services to clarify and they confirmed the 4x promotion is active and will be so for the remainder of the contract.

I would check your online account before complaining to customers services as they have updated the promotion since the original deal date but are honouring the prior deal we ordered.
wheelerdealer.8
12 Aug 17 #78
I believe its a base of 1gb, then it's quadrupled as part of a promotion. On the phone now and it says 300mb with 900mb free extra data on the app, so would assume that would be the same for you. Just make sure it has lifetime quadruple data when you add to the basket.

12 Aug 17 #76
Yeah, I did do, they have asked me to go and do a web chat on Monday to try and resolve it. Even posted the screen caps on their Facebook page as proof of the offer I signed up to. Then again, if UK based Facebook moderators they would be fully aware of what the offers, prices and data offering were last month.

The letter inside the box states what virgin are claiming I signed up for, 1500 mins & 1gb data at £4 per month, yet we all know this offer and price doesn't exist!.

Basically virgin (after just calling them) are claiming they have no record of a previous call and claim when I signed the offer was for only 1gb of data, which is rubbish as everyone who signed the same £21 tariff last month knows it was 4gb data and not 1gb. Do virgins overseas staff not know what there data offerings are from month to month?, its why I hate calling as they just play dumb or are so badly trained that they don't know how to pull up previous offers to resolve such calls.

They even claim the upgrade and new allowance is £19 per month and for 1500 minutes and 1gb data, yet this tariff (£19) just doesn't exist, either this month or last month, so where are they getting there information from?.

They have annoyingly added 3gb of data as a goodwill gesture this month (which I never asked for) and said they will raise a ticket for the matter to be look into. Not good enough, I know exactly how these things pan out, a raised ticket is not needed, they should be able to sort it there and then.
dave99461
11 Aug 17 #67
I'm now confused, after reading some posts on here I've checked and got my credit agreement emailed today (been working away). The agreements confirms device as £15 per month as it was when I signed up. Yet the sim\content shows as £4 per month online, £19 per month total. Yet I signed up for the deal on the 24th of last month when the offer was for £21 for the phone, ps4 & 4gb per month of data. Even at the time there was no £19 per month tariff!. They were supposed to have sorted this but seemingly not as the price is wrong (even if £2 cheaper) and the data still at 1 GB and not the 4gb I signed for. Either this gets sorted tonight when I call them or I'll refuse to accept and sign for the phone and ps4 tomorrow when its due to be delivered!.

8 Aug 17 #59
Make sure you download your credit agreement, use the email you signed with put you card details in and you can get a PDF copy. I've just done mine now before they change it on the sly. Mine confirms £360 all over it. Now i have my copy they don't have a leg to stand on. Let them take £17 a month for the phone and £4 for the tariff that means I am paying an extra £2 a month more off my credit, So when I do buy out of It I will have saved in the tariff  .(if you get me)
lee42
8 Aug 17 #58

Must admit, hadn't thought about checking my original agreement - but you are correct that the device agreement is still @ £360. Have to see what happens, but technically - the price should be as signed. In fact, you could argue that we should only be paying the agreed device payment per month, but benefit from the new lower price of the data sim as this is not a signed agreement. I'm sure pigs will fly before this happens though  .

You'll find now that the device is £17 pm and the airtime £1pm. Still the same price PM, but just means that the overall device costing (if you want to pay off early) has gone up.
manicmidlander
8 Aug 17 #55
When I signed up the xa1 and ps4 deal was £15 a month for the device cost and £3 fir air time contract. I went for the cheapest deal
lee42
8 Aug 17 #54
Is it my imagination or have Virgin changed the combined device cost of the XA1 and PS4 from £360 to £408 over 24mths, or as I originally remember it - £15pm and £6pm airtime so £21pm (for 1gb x4 when deal was available). The cost PM has now been broken down as £17pm and £4pm airtime?

Managed to get a cached version of the phone on it's own cost which does restore my sanity..
Monthly device(s) payment £13
Monthly bill for 24 months £16
Cash price of device(s)

Credit amount £312 APR representative 0%Total device(s) payment £312

As I pre-ordered this, shouldn't the price be fixed? Or am I remembering it incorrectly

Great deal. As they stopped the 1500min and 4Gb data for £21, I managed to get 2500min and 2GB data for £21 yesterday which is quite a good deal. I will see how it goes on the data side but I rarely use more than 1GB per month so 2GB should be enough..

I ordered mine 2 days ago and as I'm a low user the basic tarrif worked better for me. The fact unused data rolls over is good as I'm used to using 500mb a month so from month 2 onwards I'll effective be on a 1.6gb data plan.

Just in case anyone else like me ordered the 300mb bundle, which was doubled to 600mb, it's actually the same price but they changed it to 1gb.

Go to your account orders and Click view order details in that you should see:
Phone plus PS4
The package you have chosen mins 1500 mins 1gb of 24 months under that you should see it say lifetime x4 data meaning 4 X the 1gb.

If you don't see that you must have not ticked the box that says add 4 X data free whilst checking out. You need to have ticked that or they won't add it.

Screenshot added now could not find out how to do it before see below.

My order does show both the phone and the PS4 in both detail and photo, so I'm not concerned as far as that goes. As for the member who says they have the phone already but no PS4, well as I understand things, the phone\PS4 offer isn't released until the 11th\12th, even stated in the detail of the advert, so unless released early then either a mess up by VM or the member didn't order the deal with PS4?.

And as for the member who says there account for the offer shows 4gb and not the 1gb, any chance you can upload a screen cap?. As whilst ordering, everything states 4gb of data (have screen casps to prove this) but after ordering the detail on my account only shows 1gb of data.

Not saying they wont honour it as have proof of offer and ordering, but slightly concerned at the lack of offer detail clarification.

Yes that's what I was saying in my reply to the user who stated you could get £200 for PS4 & £160 for the phone.

I signed up for this after speaking to web chat customer services, the phone arrived today but no PS4. I phoned them to find out why and they said it didn't show on their system (despite me holding the phone and receipt in my hand) and it was only the phone. They then told me to cancel the order and to re-order it to see if it works and put me through to sales. Sales told me they couldn't do that as they can only cancel the order and then I would need to wait until they receive the phone before they can re-order it on a whole new contract. They then transferred me through to cancellations who said that when you order online you need to then phone them to complete the order so you can get the PS4 bundle.....At no point is this shown when ordering online. I've now got to wait up to 5 days for the bag to arrive so I can send it back and then they will cancel the order. For anyone here who has ordered this online I would strongly recommend phoning them to make sure they will get it.......Although you will likely be told yes and it won;t arrive and then be told different information from everyone you speak to after.

In fact, going through the order process again that above lifetime 4x data is indeed there and selected by default which is why I don't recall it maybe. Didn't have or notice any of that when I chose the offer last Monday. I simply chose the £21 tariff with the quadruple 4gb offer, which I assume stays on that offer unless I change tariffs at any point?. But whilst when logging into my account it shows I upgraded on the 24th, yet the tarrif wont start until the next month renewal it however only states 1gb data for the upgrade and not the 4gb it should be under the offer.

Yeah, I've been looking round this morning and realised this is an even better deal when combined with the quadruple data offer on the £21 pm for the 4gb data and minutes etc, which is what I upgraded to. In fact the nearest offer giving at least 4gb data with no upfront cost I've found is £22 pm, with just 600 mins and no PS4.

Don't like that there is a delay to release it, but as long as I still get the quadruple data as signing before the offer finishes I'll be happy.

Great deal which ever way you look at it.

Phone is basic, but a phone is a phone, so many people worry about camera or resolution, but in reality it basically makes no difference unless using devices for specific apps or situations. Great deal in my opinion, if the phone brand said Samsung or Apple this would be 1000 degrees+. But, that's just how fickle fan bois roll.

The only concern I have with my order is that whilst I ordered yesterday (24th) but stated in the webpage about still also inclusive of the extra data offer (4gb instead of 1gb with the £21 pm option I went for) that the contract detail when I login just shows the baseline data of 1gb for allowance once it starts!.!. Weather this is normal or down to items not being expected until the 12th August and the new allowance not starting until 22nd August I don't know.

In comparison the cheapest pay monthly I researched was tesco mobile at £15 per month to say EE at £25.50 odd per month with other amounts in between or probasbly higher with no PS4. At worst this deal is £3 per month more than cheapest option I could find with (+£72) and a random higher end offering £7.50 per month cheaper (-£180).

Based on a 24 month Consumer Credit Agreement provided by Virgin Media Mobile Finance Limited and a 30 day rolling Pay Monthly Airtime Contract with Virgin Mobile Telecoms Limited

Does this mean you can cancel the airtime after 30 days then?

It works out at £3 a month for the contract if you minus £200 and £160?

18 x 24 = 432 - 200 = 232 - 160 = 72 ÷ 24 = 3

Decent deal if you haven't got a ps4 yet and looking for new contract and mobile. The handset also has remote play

Don't know why the deal link isn't working, I'm looking at the edit option and the correct URL is there but clicking on the get deal tab it goes the the HDUK homepage?.

Retail sellers of this PS4 package indicates its the PS4 slim, but whilst the pic on Virgin Mobiles website suggests a 500gb, its not clarified in the detail either. So will be interesting to see if I get either the 500gb or 1tb version of the PS4 package.
