I have a pair of these, they are amazing sound quality and build quality. No issues with cracking. My only fault is they aren't as good for phone calls as my bose around ear 2's, but beat them in every other way.

Indeed, I cancelled my order after reading of this from some Amazon reviews. Lift the lid a little and the web is littered with issues and Sony apparently will not stand behind the product or recognise the issues "wear and tear".
Will take my business to Bose, who are faultless with their CS.

its a great price but considering the widespread reports of the design fault it looks like its pretty much guaranteed to have issues.
