Yes aha, great have fun! I was at goodwood a couple weeks back, its events and especially air shows where this comes into great use. Know someone who is renting this lens in a few weeks for same use.

I imagine some of the cold votes are because it doesn't say this is for the Sport version in the title, and the Contemporary is £789, so it looks like a bad deal. Was certainly my initial impression.

I got the Tamron SP AF150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for about £400 last year on the warehouse 20% thing. Was like new. Fun lenses. (I'm no expert). So if you see any on the warehouse maybe take the plunge.

I initially thought the price unremarkable because at no point is mention made that it is the Sport edition. Might be worth tweaking title for clarity.

Be prepared and willing to return a few samples of this lens if buying Amazon. I returned a Sigma ART 50mm three times until I got a good sample - can't say if it was QC issues from Sigma or how poorly Amazon packaged the lens (no bubble wrap or anything to ptotect the lens box from the Amazon shipping box). Despite complaining to Amazon, they contued to ship the lens with minimal protection. I'd imagine a long zoom like this would be even more susceptible to impacts and kockd than a prime lens. Probably the worst lens packaging I've ever encountered. Voted hot nonetheless.

I ordered brembo brake discs from amazon last week - they arrived with no amazon packaging, just the manafacturers own box which is minimal and highly unlikely intended for shipping. seriously the box was totally beat up, burst from one side exposing the brakes and totally prone to sliding out and causing serious injury.

That is a different lens. This is the sport 150-600 not the contemporary. Here's the actual UK link: amazon.co.uk/dp/…RN6

They used to go a tad overboard with the packaging then I remembering them getting some bad press from the Eco brigade I guess they've used it as an excuse to cut packaging costs.

Since I clicked on the link I'm getting the ads for two SPORTs one cheap the other dear.
I think this is the contemporary model misnamed!
