Hi everyone. EE contract's up for renewal and I've been scouring the net for a decent deal on the S8. Think I've found one and just placed and order for it.

I would never go back to vodafone. Worst customer service I've ever experienced.
BTW my GF just got the following deal for an S8 after speaking with EE (she's been with them for a long time).
10GB Data, Unltd mins and texts for 28.49 per month - no upfront costs. That is a great deal.

Ring EE upgrades, you should get it for £28.39 p.m. 50 upfront.
(that was after quoting my unidays 20% code)

Was on the phone for ages with them yesterday and the best they could do was like £36/month or something. With poor data allowance as well so I'm off to try Vodafone for a little while
Nope, not working. Just search for it on the website. Just be sure to change the filters accordingly.

Yea, can't get the link to work but if you search for it, it's there. I just searched for s8 in the search bar, changed the filters to max £30 monthly cost and max 125 upfront cost and it pops up.

If I have an existing account with Vodafone would this Just add on as an Additional Line or Create a seperate account? I don't want my billing to be screwed up by duplicate accounts etc

Hmm I just renewed my contract with EE today. Now reading your post I'm wondering if I should have pushed a bit harder on the sales guy because he only offered me £35.99 with no upfront cost and 5GB data. I went for it because it seemed reasonable at the time.

Great deal. Only been with then for 2 years so assuming it isn't long enough to get a deal as good as that.

That's a good offer. Last month I paid just £2 less for a poxy 6gb.

Can confirm that Vodafone have terrible customer service. Also, my GF got threatened with bailiffs over £32 because she missed one months payment. This happened after THEY cancelled the direct debit even though, she had used the online chat to cancel the contract. 1 week later, it had risen to almost £200 and she had to email a copy of the online chat transcript before they would even speak to her about the issue.
Edit: when I say cancel the contract, I mean after the 24 months were finished.

Nope, still there. You just need to search for it, the link doesn't work for some reason.

No point trying to get a deal renewing. They (EE) couldn't get remotely close to the best offers available online. Seems the best way is to just get the best deal online you can find.
The S8 is absolutely superb, btw. Fingerprint sensor is in an unbelievably bad place, but other than that it's spot on.
£800 for mobile phone, i could list dozens of things that you could rather do with £800 that is better value. Plenty of phones out there for more sensible price. Crazy people

Agreed, £800 is very expensive. However, Samsung phones hold their value extremely well. I've had a note 4 for 2 years which I've kept in pristine condition. I can actually still sell it for £200. My previous contract was £31.99 which came to a total of £768 after 2 years but I'm able to recoup some of the money by selling my old phone. And I'm expecting to do the same with the s8 after 2 years.

You realise the total cost for that one is £826.76 and it's only got 2gb of data, right?

Good price. Not confident enough to use the company though going by reviews.

Well I've just received the phone and I'll be testing Vodafone and how it does where I live (Medway, Kent). If it's crap, it's going back. They've got a 30 day satisfaction promise so should be easy enough to return it.

When I checked yesterday morning it was for voda 16gb deal with sky sports, that's gone up to £38 now.

I was thinking about getting this and then I read the people saying how bad Vodafone was. I followed this up to look at trust pilot to see a score of 0.5/10. And they are never going to improve. If you read the reviews, most of them have replayed by Vodafone. But they're the same message. I doubt they even bothered reading the problem. I didn't know much about Vodafone but it looks like I'll be staying away. Thanks guys!

So, received the package on Friday and been testing the signal where I live. Haven't used the phone yet in case I need to return it as part of the 14 day returns period. Can confirm that the strength of the signal depends on where you use it of course but seems pretty good for me. Based on the price and plan, I'm going to stick it out and see how it goes. Quidco tracked at £25 too so it'll be even better if it pays.
The reviews on Trustpilot are shocking but funnily enough, EE has a rating of 1.3/10. Gonna take my chances if it means saving money and at least I've got 30 days to decide if it good enough.

£32.99 x 24 = £826.76
+ £35 = £861.76
Your suggestion is just shy of £56 quid more expensive than the OP's suggestion.
