The theatrical version of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is this weeks iTunes 99p rental movie. Amazon have copied (as they usually do). This was the latest Star Wars movie that was released at cinemas late last year. Running time 2 hours 13 minutes. The iTunes version has iTunes "extras" that I don't think you get on Amazon. This is the first of the stand alone films set in the Star Wars universe telling stories of other characters engaged in the battle between good and evil

I will probably get shot down for this, but in my opinion this may very well be the best star wars movie.... Forward deflector Shields set to maximum...gulp!

Add me as well, great film that works within the Star Wars Universe, hopefully over the coming years they'll do more of these kind of films fleshing everything out, so much potential as long as things are done respectfully to the main story.
I thought the voice was spot on. As for the cgi I didn't think it was 2 bad. They needed him to be in the movie and I don't know of another way of brining the character in without recasting which I think would have been worse.

This film was so boring, the worst Star Wars film by far... I've tried to watch it 3 times and I fell asleep 3 times within the hour.

try again, it's the last hour that is amazing, the last 3 minutes are mind blowing!!!
But what about the message Jinn sent to that spaceship? Who was that woman in the white robes that managed to get away from Darth Vader with that message? Do the Rebellion manage to disable the weapon her dad built? Hardly the end I'd say.

Rogue One was a brilliant film but I hate cliffhanger endings. When is the sequel out?

I couldn't get into this film. Another one of those movies where the trailer make the film look far better than it is!

It reminded me of those terrible straight to DVD movies. Thank god I didn't pay to watch it.
That's the US Netflix, which generally gets more high-profile releases than we do. It is categorically not coming to UK Netflix this month.

I Youtubed it... they ruined Darth Vader for me as they just tried to make him Evil, like the prequels did, but they did it in the dumbest way.
Darth Vader was never Evil in the original Trilogy, in fact apart from the Emperor in Episode VI, The Empire had no GOOD VS BAD dipictions.

Or, search for the Battle of Scarif fan edit. Its a 50 minute cut of mainly the final act, with a new opening crawl summarising acts 1&2, and John Williams soundtrack replacing whoever scored this film. Works surprisingly well, but obviously, you must own the original film etc etc...

unfortunately, it's been confirmed that Rogue Ones will have a sequel but it will be a 39-year gap between them, that's a long time to wait

Thanks OP for posting. I've heard this film is great, but does it require you to watch any of the Star Wars films to understand it?

Could have done with less Tarkin as CGI isn't quite there yet... but other callbacks to ANH were cleverly done. I enjoyed it

Agree 100%. Really liked the film, but I hated the Tarkin CGI, it was poor, as was the voice.

Hot.
On a related note, can anyone explain to my WHY 'the force awakens' is no long available to rent on amazon video? It was there a month or so ago, but fancied watching it at the weekend, and the only option was to purchase at £13.99, so I didn't bother. A few other recent films are like this too? why?

Im completely the opposite. Thought Felicity Jones was quite weak as Jyn and Daisey Ridley did a much better job of Rey.

Always best to make up your own mind, but this actually did quite well in terms of reviews: 85% on RottenTomatoes , 65 on metacritic and a solid 7.9 on IMDb. Of course, this isn't any indication you'll like it, but if you've liked the previous films and reviews are what are swaying you, they're actually mostly positive so give it a go, you might just like it!
