been using mine for a few weeks now and not slippery at all in the wet on grass or paths when taking the dogs out, not sure what all the negatives are about

What's the sizing like on these. I'm an 8 in shoes , 9 in most trainers.

Got mine, they are too big, bigger than a pair of nike trainers i bought at the same time. buying a half size smaller, returning these.

Goretex has good breathability for a waterproof shoe. However it is nowhere as breathable as a non waterproof shoe.
Best to buy only if you want to have waterproof shoes.

Got them today, kept them for a couple of hours to see how comfortable they were, not moving, just sitting on my laptop and my feet are boiling/sweating! Just thinking if I take this to work and I need to keep the feet inside like +10 hours.

Anyone using them already? Don't you feel that the don't seem to breathable and your feet sweat easily?

Received mine. Not finding them very comfortable. Very hard under foot. Thick socks might help but I think I am going to return.

Mine have just arrived, i ordered size 9 they feel like they run slightly bigger . the grips on the bottom feel firm. As mentioned above i think they will be slippery in the wet.

Thanks for the heads up. I walk 5 miles a day, so would prefer not to have to spend £50-60 every 6 month! But they could be a wet day footwear I suppose :sunglasses:

I think you have a point. From experience Americans don't walk to the extent we do in uk, at least not around town (car is king) so no I guess they don't get tested or intended for slippery Scottish city street xD

I had the same issue with my Ventrailias. I actually sent them back to footassylum, ofc they could not find anything wrong with them, so returned them to me. I am now only wearing them in the dry (which defeats the purpose of a water proof shoe)

Inov8 Roclites. They are more expensive obv, but any of their ones with "sticky sole" are like glue on the wet or on ice. The soles wear out pretty fast so I have a pair I literally only wear when its icy. They are meant for trail running, but they are superb on icy pavement. But like I say, if you wear them every day the sole will wear through in under 6 months

Anybody got any experience of these as i am looking for something like this but the last couple of pairs of reebok i have had bought have been pretty poor

I have noticed this since I bought some Merrell Hiking boots/trainer boots a couple of years ago, my Columbia Ventralia II also are a bit slippy in the wet as well, though no wear near as bad as the Merrells.

I can only assume that they are all designed for the North American market where trails are more likely to consist of sticks, dry rock, sand and actual mud and not wet muddy granite, pavement, cobbles or limestone of the sort we have in the UK. Oh well I am sort of used to it now, and the Goretex feature still makes these a worth wile purchase even if I have to be extra careful on the wet stepping stones :smile:

Let me know if you find any, I am really struggling to find any with the stickier rubber that used to be on the bottom. Weird thing is that stickier rubber used to last me much longer too, i've had shoes that last 10-15 years with a lot of use!

ordered a 9.5 black pair as didn't like the multi coloured ones, see how it goes with the slipperyness can always return them for free.

I bought these the other week when the offer came up and overall I am quite pleased with them as I need something like these for walking the dog through wet fields and muddy paths. However, on paved surfaces they are quite slippy, even in the dry, that's my only criticism.

Also, re: sizing I think they are true to size. Being that Reebok are owned by ADIDAS I figured they probably run small and went a half size up but they are slightly too big so just get your normal size would be my advice. To the chap who bought 10.5 when 11 out of stock, you're probably worth trying them on anyway!

Fantastic Work Vassy1 , I bought the Columbia Ventralia II Outdry trainers that were £39.99 from Foot Asylum last year (geeadamg posted the deal) and they have been fantastic. I tried ordering some more from Germany on ebay for similar money, but they sent me the wrong size so had to return them. But these look just the ticket. As someone that suffers with poor circulation to my feet, and I live in a rural area which requires me to walk in wet grass all the time, the only shoes I buy are waterproof ones (I think everyone should buy Waterproof shoes regardless, nothing worse that wet feet!). Will be nice to see how they comapre to the Columbia's. :smile:

They were the sawcut 4.0 GTX's and trailgrip rs 5.0 gtx's (yes they do sound like model of car) found both v slippery. They were in the 50% sale few weeks back. Just sent em back. Had same issue with Columbias. Reckon it's cost cutting on the materials.

I actually found the opposite with mine- the soles are made of a synthetic hard compound, so probably fairly hard wearing but utter cr*p in the wet. I mean I work in s city and walk to work, and honestly was slipping a lot. Retailer weren't interested at all. Have you had any success with an alternative. Bought a pair of adidas yesterday, but just realised since they own reebok they will probably have the same issue..

How does the sizing work, are they a US or UK size ?

I didnt like the material either so sent mine back. for a trail running or walking shoe the tread is made of pretty soft rubber that will wear out pretty quickly

I bought these the last time they on sale and must say, they are brilliant. Didn't let a single drop of water through in a fairly decent drizzle as well as walking through wet grass.

Bought a similar pair recently. Sent them back because they had little grip. I think it's the material they make the soles out of, it's like a hard synthetic compound, was like walking on ice on wet surfaces. Am actually finding it hard to find similar footwear that haven't got this. Fine in the dry though.

the material used in this is prone to cuts. I have bought it few months back and out if nowhere I saw cut on the side of the shoes ( perhaps my fault). however these are very light on your feet. heat added for the price.

P.S.: I don't fancy the black shoes and the blue ones only have 3 sizes left, so no luck for me :disappointed:
