There are articles saying butter is good for us etc. There are always anomaly results and under certain conditions that make something look good.
Sadly these are the types that make it to newspapers as they grab attention.
The key is to find multiple studies and see what they say then you will often find the side to believe.
I was confused at first when i started to get into health but now i know how to review studies and its often clear when looking at a couple of studies that some things do have a negative effect. IGF being a clear one.
Higher protien hasn't been shown to be as harmful in old age as we don't produce as much IGF-1 and of course, this IGF-1 linked to ageing and age related disease, it has been shown reduction extends lifespan not only in other species but our own also. A plant based diet is a good way to keep it low  https://nutritionfacts.org/video/increasing-protein-intake-age-65/
This is helpful on this and many other on the site as he peer reviews a lot of medical literature and has a wealth of knowledge on studies that are and have came out over years. They also wait till there is enough information to show i.e not just one study but multiple. Searching protein on nutritionfacts.org will provide you with the information and there is the peer reviewed studies along with which is the best thing. Also just searching IGF - 1 on youtube.
Side Note: I used to be very ill and constantly had problems, that is when i stopped all animal protein and eat a nutritarian diet and i haven't even had a headache for just over the year i started this diet, arthritis gone, no more swollen thyroid, no more thick mucus. Im so happy as i just thought it was normal to get ill every so often but now i don't and i feel like my immune system is absolutely solid. Seeing others around me fatigued and with colds, headaches etc. Hard to believe that i was once like them. Just makes you happy waking up in the morning knowing you are healthy and eating good organic fruits, whole-grains etc. Plus all the people i know comment on how healthy i look and skin glows etc. Would never go back.
Its clear i have less inflammation in my body and confirmed when i went to the doctor as my liver function returned to normal also markers of inflammation were all very low.
I know we cant believe everything, so i believe its important to always find what the mass evidence says and see if its from a reliable source e.g. not funded by the dairy, meat industry etc. Then you can be more comfortable in making a choice.

When you read most all (official) health guides it's a simple point of not under/over supplying bodily needs for an intended healthy outcome. To suggest longevity due to this or that is ultimately fallacious.
Do you have a source for what your suggesting regarding aging quicker due to more energy as it sounds like absolute nonsense.

Its not really for anything its a food, just not that common to some as e.g. rice.
It is a alternative to rice, you can use it instead of oats and make a quinoa porridge.
Instead of rice in all sorts of dishes.
It has a low GI and is a complete protein source containing all amino acids.
Has lots of fibre and in my opinion is one of the best nutritionally out of the alternatives e.g. buckwheat, rice etc.
I used to eat masses and to be honest i don't have as much energy since i stopped and notice i don't feel as good when i tried alternatives.
Only reason i stopped is because i once thought protein was amazing but i know a lot about health and realise that more is not better as the more energy the body has the faster we age and metabolise etc.
e.g. The Okinawans of Japan have little protein. So i go for less complete proteins now but that is just personal to me  .

And I always thought if you become fitter and lower your heart rate that might prolong your life in that generally creatures that have lower heart rates live longer?
