Let it go it was over a week ago, this requires PS+ which isn't a freebie.
Liked your comment by accident, sorry.

With the piece of crap that the playstation network is, you wouldn't have finished downloading it before the weekend is up.

Maybe invest in a better internet service instead of moaning about problems that don't exist?
(Started my download just there, 8 hours to go for 100gb of data isn't too bad at all)

Takes me around an hour and a half maybe a little less to download a 50gb game off Psn. Might be worth getting off dial up speed if you want to play games online
"During the free weekend, you can play the first two Campaign levels and all of DOOM Multiplayer and SnapMap. Additionally, you will earn double experience! The full game can be unlocked by purchasing DOOM."
Makes sense

so let me get this straight. this free trial is where i can actually play the whole full game? ie i wont get limited on playing the single player campaign after 4 hours or after reaching a certain level in the game. i can potentially finish the whole campaign by the end of the weekend?
if so, then i might as well download it and smash it out!

ok just checked looks like its limited. :disappointed:

Free trial weekends are great for games many people would be on the fence about. Just buy Doom if you don't own it already though. It's so fun and well worth £10 of anyone's money!

I'm also glad it's a limited trial and not the whole game, having bought the game!

Not keen on this game... compared to destiny the controlled feel rigid and lacks atmosphere

Toooootally different game & style of play to destiny. Oranges and apples.
Personally I thought this game was a breath of fresh air. The campaign is one of the best ones I've played since Wolfenstein and the multiplayer is respectable too. Definitely worth the purchase.

My mistake, I've edited the OP. I'm sure I read it had no restrictions last night. I could be wrong. It says 'Full Game Trial' on the page, maybe that's where I got it?

Well considering that I work for a major internet backbone, I know a hell of lot more about this than you.
I have all three consoles and a PC and the PS4 is by far the worst.
PSN is terrible.

I get a pretty constant 12MB on PSN, but on Steam I get 27.8MB so PSN or the console itself are limiting bandwidth..

I would rely on Steam Download speeds with my life.
Always so consistent, hate how Xbox/PSN have ugly download speeds.

One of the best single-player campaigns I've played in a long time - loads of fun!
I traded it in without playing multiplayer though (I'm not a fan of 10-men-in-a-box moshpits - I much prefer huge maps where strategy can win out). What's your take on it?

I was really hoping it would be (still am on the off chance) but it just sounded too good to be true, so i looked for confirmation.

No it's a demo. I don't know why it's not called a demo, I guess because of the multiplayer garbage they've thrown in (which NEVER took off). Gigs and gigs to download for 2 level demo is pretty daft.
id have been so wrong with their approach to this awesome game since launch, it's bizarre to watch. They made one of the best single player campaigns of recent memory imo, then proceeded to ignore it and try to get everyone on the frankly average at best multiplayer. Quake 3 arena, this ain't.

So this is a demo not the whole game?
I ask this as I was lucky enough to get the cut price Amazon PSN credit cheap and Neogaf are having a meltdown with PS+ prices rising next week to £49.99 a month. This might have pushed me into jumping into PS+ again.
I was deliberating whether to use my £42 credit to buy a year of PS+ before the hike.
Do we know why the price has risen? Are we likely to be offered anything more than the usual indie slop each month?

Just because you don't have a problem doesn't mean they don't exist. I used to always see far lower speeds downloading anything on my PS3 or PS4 than from anywhere else at all - it never really bothered me but was very noticeable.
Personally I've found these problems went away a long time ago and can't really fault Sony these days but if others are still experiencing them I can understand the frustration.

There is certainly download speed problems with the PS4 that's for sure, sometimes it just won't pick the speed up.
But what I found is if you pause your download and resume it a few times, you Will eventually get your proper download speed.
It works, and I hope it helps you guys out!

BEWARE - 45gb download!
Even with my 100mb connection this will be an overnight job with the slow servers.
