For anyone who bought this TV: I wrote to Amazon yesterday regarding PlayStation Now and how it no longer works but it is advertised on the listing. Getting £100 refund due to this so worth a go if you have bought one. £499 for this is an absolute steal!

Got mine delivered today at 7:30am! Got it all set up and so far no complaints! Picture quality is fantastic and having upgraded to Android Nougat out of the box the UI seems to be fairly smooth with no noticeable lag. Hopefully the experience continues!

I have this TV (bought earlier this year from RS ) specifically because parents wanted new kit & thought i'd see if a 'regular' 4K sony would still be as good as a others w.r.t a few things such as refresh rates, the Android OS (which i'd seen on previous brands and it was very, very slow), etc.. Thought it was a good way to test it out as parents don't really do much 4K & if things weren't fantastic it would still make a really good 1080p panel for regular content (the upscaling/matching from SD/HD on this i'd read was pretty sharp)
I have to say it is a ridiculously good TV .. !
The UI is actually pretty fluid - Android updates have come out which helped immeasurably, I have Kodi installed (which works really well), Picture quality is awesome.. really pops out.. Both with HD and 4K content via Netflix, so DareDevil, Iron Fist (eugh!), Unfortunate Events etc .. & it all held up really well.. so much so that i'm considering getting another one for the flat..
The only issue I had previously was due to WiFi intermittent connectivity, but that's more down to this TV being in a place at the edge of a range extender .. (WiFi Analyzer on the play store is damn good for profiling these things) .. moved it around a bit at the same time an update rolled out.. between the two of them i've not had any drop-outs for months..
I haven't tested hundreds of 4K TV's, and as such YMMV/Reviews will have a different angle (& potentially different bias) .. but from my personal experience it's a really good piece of kit..

Thanks for the info  I'm thinking of getting a PS4 Pro for this. I've read that in some TVs the HDMI has to be put in a certain HDMI port for HDR - is the same true for this set? Also, I've got a Samsung surround sound - will this just go into the ARC port and can be controlled with the TV remote? TIA

Yep - it's on the latest 6.2602.
I'm happy enough as I don't really 'watch TV' (channel surf); I just watch a few hours a week of streamed series episodes, for which the picture quality to my eyes is great (i.e no need to pay the premium for blacker blacks etc). If I was constantly hopping channels and moving around the interfaces, I might be less keen.

I originally bought it and then cancelled 30 mins later as the lack of 5/6 year warranty put me off.
I would rather pay an extra £150 for extended warranty for a TV from John Lewis or Richer Sounds.

Sadly not native 10bit. It's 8bit + FRC so it fakes 10 bit. Probably wouldn't notice mind you.

This may be a stupid question, but a lot say these Sony tv's have really bad lag when pressing the remote to the action happening on the TV. Can this be avoided with a roku stick etc?
Or are just normal tv channels also affected too?

OK - that looks a more comprehensive spec. Richer Sounds has it listed as a dual core. Either way there's a bottleneck somewhere leading to the big lag spikes.
Great I was looking at the 65 inch version but I have a 2014 60 inch Sony Bravia but have been holding out for a 2017 65 model, I think I will wait and get a new telly on Black Friday

I've had this model for a couple of weeks (paid £616 I think).
For the price, very impressed.
Be aware that it IS sometimes laggy (I know it has a dual core CPU when every comparable set has a quad), and at times reminds me of what my 1GB S3 was like on Android after a couple of years. If you are mostly watching long TV shows or movies, rather than constantly flicking through channels or menus, then it's not much of an impediment and more of a downside that you just accept and work around. For example, if I'm streaming something in Ultra HD via the Amazon Prime TV app, changing the volume will lead to a few seconds of frame rate slowdown / stuttering, with volume on-screen changing 5-6 seconds after pressing the button.
For a non-demanding user the picture is very good, but it does struggle with low light scenes. Blacks are obviously not that great, but the more noticeable weakness is the backlight constantly blooming and dimming during scenes set in dark rooms, with the picture looking completely washed out.
If you can forgive these issues, it's a fantastic TV for the money. The Man in the High Castle in Ultra HD is amazing!
The LGs are worth considering if you want the quad core CPU, webOS, or inbuilt FreeSat (the Sony has Sat inputs but not the FreeSat EPG).
Someone is probably going to tell me I shouldn't be spending so much on a TV if I'm asking this question, but I'll ask anyway!
Is there a reason why the 55 inch LG deal is £90 more expensive? Are there any reasons why anyone would go for LG over Sony? In terms of quality, reliability etc.
My current TV in my room is an LG 1080p model (which was served me very well) I've had for a few years and I'm looking to upgrade if possible. Any advice would be much appreciated!

not an actual 10bit panel, entry level 10bit TV still the Samsung KS7000 series then.
But for the price, it'll do for me!
